Resumo: The project is located in a city of 46,000 inhabitants. It is the region with the largest number of people in the region, but is considered a rural area. This area has great historical and natural heritage as the Natural Park.
This is the city that serves as the administrative and commercial center. The main source of income in order are the services, agriculture and industria.Dueo to its long tradition in agriculture, especially citrus, the town hosts an important number of immigrant population (25% of the population of the city). Currently are living in the city 110 nationalities and 112 different religions. The 27% of the population are young people.
The hosting organization is situated in the neighborhood of Rastre, in the old center, where most people who live are with less
economic resources, and economic realities, cultural and social well diferences. The common perception is that there is a significant offset of the people who go to other neighborhoods (indigenous) and people arriving (immigrants). Most Spanish gypsy population is located in the historic old Town .The houses are in a state of degradation.
The volunteer will live in a shared flat with local young people or other volunteers EVS. He/She will have to buy his own food and cook for himself. It may establish rules for cleaning the falt if necessary. The flat is restricted to the volunteers.Other people apart form the volunteers can not be hosted in the flat. The volunteer will have a room.He/She could also share it Distances are short, so the volunteer will be able to move either walking or ciclying. In any case, if the volunteer needs to use
public transport for the project activities , the hosting organisation will cover his travel expenses.
The volunteer could eat with other volunteers in the social dinning room.
A bank account will be open during the first week of hisr arrival . Pocket money and food money will be put in this bank account.
We note that the volunteer will live with this language and he needs to
be open to learn it.
Being a rural area, there are few Spanish courses of high or medium level, therefore there will be proposed a basic Spanish course and
Catalan classes in various levels. In addition, we will provide the volunteer contacts with young people interested in language
exchanges in any language (catalan or spanish).
Although in the center there is little cultural and leisure offer. During the week, young people are studying in the cities. The relationship space for young people focuses mainly in associations (drums, various sports, etc), in music schools and in mountaineering clubs. The volunteer will meet people through his participation in leisure activities mentiones above.
Holidays are fixed for Christmas and Easter. Other holidays that the volunteer might take have to be agreed with her supervisor in
sufficient advance. In August, the organization are closed.
Perfil: The project is aimed at female volunteer between 18 and 30 highly motivated in working with people at risk of exclusion and social exclusion and poverty. A minimum knowledge of Spanish as you will be permanently in contact with different people (volunteers of different ages and service users).
It requires a positive, open, empathetic, sensitive listening skills, initiative and humildad.Que likes talking and working with personas.Se requires flexibility and good humor in dealing with the development of voluntary gente.La must be prepared and able to accept the reality of the other and without prejudice. Woman is preferred so you can work in the workshops of adolescent and adult women.
Age: 18 until 30 years old
Tarefas: From the organization the volunteer will participate in the arrival training with the social workerr. On the other hand, the volunteer ,as user, may
participate in the workshops (yoga, painting, and excursions). If the volunteer have any specific skill, she can also implement it with the users of the organization. Once a year the volunteers of the organization attend to the Spanish Training for the organization in Madrid. The volunteer might also attend the training.
From time to time,Are timely and informative training sessions for volunteers / volunteers from the organization. The / the young volunteer can also attend these meetings.
The pre-employment workshops (currently sewing) are for the users of the organization to help them with their work habits. The volunteer , if
interested might may take part in these workshops.
In addition to these tasks, the volunteer will participate in language classes ( intensive spanish training the first month, and then regular
training (1 to 3 hours a week) as needed. Catalan classes from the third month . Spanish lessons will be given in the association
Atzavara-Arrels, or in the official language school or in a vocational training center, or Catalan classes offered by the Centre de
Normalització Lingüística.
Minimum competencies that the volunteer may develop during his EVS are:
Communication in the mother tongue:
-Before the project, language communication by telephone with the sending organization; but also during and after the project. Conflict
resolution, writing reports (final report, evaluation, ...)
-Writing your CV and a covering letter. Ttranslating into English or Spanish to contact the hosting organisation. If the volunteer comes
from the same country as one of the users, he will have the opportunity to communicate with them in his own language.
-Analyze and understand the reality of Catalonia and to compare it with the reality of his country or region of his country.
Communication in foreign languages:
-Oral and written in Castilian and Catalan, through regular classes, but also in everyday life, in the falt, with his friends, with peers / or
working with the volunteers.
-Public speaking before their iguales.Explain the reality of his country in another language.Learn about Spanish and Catalan culture

The main purpose of the volunteer will be the attention to the users of the organization by volunteering in the different actions, and offering
support to the social workers and other volunteers to differents actions and projects planned.
-Assist and attend to the users of the organization in the office: controling lines, welcome the users who are waiting to be atended, etc
-Assist in the social dining room with other volunteers to serve the food, and welcome the people as they arrive.
-Collaborate with the attention of the passers: welcome them, offer service orientation, attend the collection of clothes, serving them and collaborate with the lunch, talk and listen to them.
-Organize and schedule the workshops for women and girls with the help of social worker. In this activity the volunteer will assist the women and girls with the psychologist and social worker. The volunteer may attend workshops and gradually he will know the group. He will give support to the development of the workshops (yoga, dynamic, excursions, etc.)
-Prepare, organize and give talks with obre't'ebre or the organization in different institutions public or private entitades. On Monday , within three hours on Monday, will have a space created for personal project. This space is flexible.
For two days a week and twice a month (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) he will be distributing food. The food distribution hours are
compensated with the hours of talks on Mondays.
The volunteer will offer support and help in various activities that are required, but he may also develop his capacity for initiative on
personal projects. Furthermore, according to his interest he could promote a project, either individually or with other volunteers (EVS).
The volunteer will have a supervisor in the host organization who will help the volunteer.
The activities that will be held in the organization, are:
WORK WITH WOMEN IN EXCLUSION AND RISK OF EXCLUSION:
A.1 Group for mental health and emotional intelligence with a group of young women. Monday and Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m..
Assistance of women between 8 and 15.
.2 Self-help group with social worker and psychologist “CLARA”. from 3:30 p.m. to 17h Wednesday. Assistance between 8 and 15
women.
ASSISTANCE TO USERS
Tuesday and Thursday from 16.30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays: Care and attention.
SOCIAL DINNING ROOM, servethe food and serve it to the passers and homeless people. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
from 12.30h until 15.00h .On arrival the volunteer will do the reception of the users, he will have to verify users' cards.
Once a month
along with the social worker and the other volunteers , he will help with the renewal of cards.
SHELTER: show the users the house. He will offer the passers clean clothes. He will serve the food with the noons.
DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD, food preparation and distribution. Twice a month from 9 to 12 am second Wednesday and second Tuesday.
Food distribution to 400 familias.From January to March 11 to 11.30 h . Between 8 and 40 sub-Saharan people come to work for the citrus season. In the evening dinner is offered. The volunteer may attend to help the nuns offsetting the help in this action.
LECTURES: During different periods a the year the volunteer will participate in the organization of talks about volunteering and other workshops related to coexistence and volunteering actions locally and internationally.
