Resumo: The project is located in a town with a 46.000 inhabitant city, the province in the south . It's the county with the most inhabitants (183.000 inhabitants), but is considered a rural area. There is a great historical and natural heritage like the Nature Parc.
The town is the administrative centre of the county. The most important sectors of economy are services, agriculture and industry. Because of the large tradition of agriculture,
especially in the citrus, there is a high percentage of immigration (25%). At the moment there are 110 different nationalities and 112 different religions. 27% of the poblation are youngsters.
The Youth Point is located outside of the old town where most of the secundarynschools are located. The Youth information point has become a cultural space of encounters and hosting of the local community which plays an important role in the integration of the youngsters in the city. During six months there are a lot of youngsters participating in the project of intercultural youthdinamization organized by the youth department for youngsters from fourteen to twentyfive. The timetable of the Youth information point is:
During summer (15.06. - 10.09.): Mo – Fr, 9:00 – 15:00
During the rest of the year: Mo – Fr, 9:00 – 14:00, 16:30 – 18:30
There are punctual activities that are realized outside of this timetable, probably on friday nights or the weekends.
The volunteer will live in a shared flat with local youngsters or other EVS volunteers. He/She will have to buy his/her own food and cook for him/herself. Cleaning rules might be established if necessary. The flat is destined only to the exclusive use of the volunteers of obre't'ebre. No visitors are allowed. The volunteer might have to share a room.
There are no long distances in the city, so everything can be easily reached on foot or by bike. Whenever the volunteers needs to use public transports, transport costs will be covered by the organization. A bank account will be opened for the volunteer in the first week of the volunteer's arrival where the food and pocket money will be payed to.
Being a rural zone, there are some Spanish courses (intermediate and high level) and various Català courses of different levels. The organization will facilitate the contact to young people interested in language exchange in any language.
Perfil: We require an active volunteer, dynamic, with communication skills, empathetic, assertive and open to know people from different cultures.
The main requirement is that you are motivated to learn and to take initiative.
We value positively the interest and expertise in leisure, education, culture and social work with youth and children.
Castilian preferably low-level means to integrate quickly and understand what to do.
Regarding the selection process:
The coordinating organization will contact the sending organisation and the volunteer to inform if we have taken his candidature.
We will have a preselection of five volunteers, one of them will be chose. Once selected the volunteer, we will contact him to have
skype interviews with the coordinationg organisation and the host organization and the volunteer. One month before arrival infokit will be send to the selected person.
The sending organization should be equally motivated for the follow up of the volunteer. We require an organizaton that wants to work with the hosting and sending of volunteers and participate in other mobility programs for future singergias with the coordinating
organizaton.

Through the contact with the workers the volunteer will be able to learn about the catalan culture, the reality of the immigrants, their cultures, people with special educational necessities, the norms and laws of the Spanish government and the Spanish society.
The volunteer can participate in the different activities, workshops and talks of sensabilisation, where he/she will learn paedagogical and technical methods, and so will improve his/her social and personal skills.
In addition to these activities the volunteer will participate in the language course (power course of Spanish in the first month and later normal linguistic formation (between one and three hours a week) depending on his/her necessities, català courses starting the third month if the volunteer is interested, Spanish classes that are provided by the association Atzavara-Arrels, to official language school or the centre of ocupational formation, and/or the català classes offered by the Cenre de Normalització Linguistica.
The minimum competences so the volunteer will develop during his EVS, are:
Communication in the mother tongue:
-Telephone calls with his/her sending organization before, during and after the project, conflict solution, writing evaluations
-Writing a CV and a motivation letter before translating it into English or Spanish in order to contact the host organization
-If the volunteer comes from the same country as the users of the entitiy, he/she will have the opportunity to communicate in his/her
mother tongue
-Analize and compare his/her own language with Spanish and Català
-Analize and understand the reality of Catalunya and comparing to the realitiy in his/her country/region.
Communication in foreing languages:
-Oral and written communication in Spanish and Català through regular clases but also the daily life, in the flat, with his/her friends,
with his/her coworkers or with other volunteers
-Talk in public.
-Explain the reality of his/her country in another language.
-Getting to know the Spanish and Catalan cultures and other cultures existing in the town
-Explain and solve conflicts in another language.
Mathematics competences and basic competences in science and technologi.
-Solve conflict
-Learning how to organize activities and projects.
-Logistic learning in planning activities.
Digital competences
-Advanced use of office, program management and graphical editing (making presentations, reports, spreadsheets for financial

-Submit their origins, their experience, their country, with or without PowerPoint presentation
The main purpose of the volunteers will be the attention to young people. They will give their support in the actions and planned
projects for young people in the field of education of the values of coexistence, tolerance and solidarity.
The volunteers will offer their support and help in various activities required, but they may also develop their capacity of initiative in
the projects that the may develop. On the other hand, according to the demand of young people in the Youth Point, they could launch
a project with the help of the youth worker, in order to promote the integration of young immigrants.
The volunteer will have a supervisor in the hosting orgasation who will help the volunteer in any occasion.
The volunteer will help in the following activities regularly operating, but without taking the whole of their working time because he will
also have the possibility to develop his personal project:
A. To sort and classify (5-10%): help to sort the shelves, classify documents and sort the material
B. Attention, information and training (20-30%) in the direct care support and call center and electronic (email) to the users of the
Youth Point, and trainning for the users (visits, explanations, information search )
C. Internet and computers room (35-45%): Register the users and to assist and giving support to the users of the computer room in
the use of new technologies.
D. Campaign to publicize the Youth Point in secondary schools and universities (5-10%):
D1 Support for the preparation of the talks
D2 Assist in organizing the schedule of talks.
D3 Giving support in the centers to give the talks.

E. Administrative tasks (5-10%): Assist in writing letters, mailing, distribution of posters, registration control and monitoring of courses
and activities, organizing the schedule of trainings, ....
F. Organization of events (5-10%): Assist in the organization of tasks performed by the Youth Department (conferences, lectures,
workshops, Exhibitions, Competitions, Festivals, Tours, Park Christmas shows, etc ...)
G. ENewsletter (5-10%): Assist in the editing, layout and newsletter.
