Resumo: Code-X International has developed an EVS project, which aims to support the development of youth and community in the pacified urban community (favela) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in cooperation with Barraco#55.

The project aims to resolve local issues and problems through cultural projects. Barraco#55 is a centre for art and research in Complexo de Alemao. Its goal is to connect and boost the exchange of knowledge and culture within and outside the favela, seeking popular mobilization through art and culture and the transformation of a low-income area into an area of creation, innovation and cultural exchange. The centre works in the areas of sustainability, new/multimedia, gender, urban planning and street art.

Perfil: 1. Participants must not have participated in an EVS project before.

2. Participants should be between the ages of 18 and 30.

3. Participants should have an interest in youth and community development, art and culture.

Tarefas: Volunteers will be able to participate in a variety of tasks and activities with young children, including:

- Preparing the interviews and videos with girls/women from the community

- Running educational workshops for the community

- PR / marketing activities, social networks about project

- Communication and new media

- Transforming public areas

- Artistic activities, making research

- And much more…
