Resumo: We would like to include the volunteers in the activities that we will implement in the following period, and that are addressed to young people (children and youths). The volunteers will have to work with groups from the local community, in cultural activities as art (dance, drawing, video, etc), intercultural sessions, workshops, language and computer skills, social campaigns.

The activity will be based in Romania, mainly at the Association location. The targeted groups incldue a variety of communities – such as Roma, institutionalized children, ethnic and other minorities, young people with disabilities, and other groups affected by problems such as discrimination, economical difficulties, school drop-out, etc. The volunteers will receive on-arrival training from a team of professionals with relevant expertise in these fields, and will benefit from constant coaching from them during the entire project. Also, the Association staff members will help with logistic, administrative and technical aspects.

The volunteers will be accommodated in single or double room apartments, having all the necessary facilities. A separate office space will be put at their disposal at the location premises.

Perfil: We are interested in including volunteers with various backgrounds, with the ages of 18 – 25. A certain educational background is not necessary, but the volunteer should prove that he/she can involve in the activities we organize. No differentiation will be made on religious views, gender, ethnicity, geographical origins or other such criterion. We will ensure a transparent recruitment procedure, by launching an open call in the media and EVS resource channels. The selection will be made by the project team and together with the partner organization, in view of a good match between the volunteer profile and the implemented activities. We would like that the participating volunteers be able to bring new perspectives and an experience that is particularly beneficial for the target groups of the project (non-discriminatory attitude, open-mindedness, desire to bring social improvement, promote inclusion and a better society).

We would like to cooperate with sending organizations whose activities are similar to ours, who are youth organizations or associations of young people.
age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The volunteers will receive training upon arrival, and periodic feedback sessions, depending on the service period. This will allow them to identify discuss improvement possibilities, possible issues or adjustments that can to be made. Also, they will be asked to hand in an intermediary activity report that will allow the implementation team to assess the evolution of the service and make the necessary recommendations.

Working close to the organization staff, they will have the opportunity to professionalize and learn more about the administration, implementation and evaluation of a large-scale project. Besides trainings and language classes, they will have the opportunity to participate to the other events organized by the Association – seminars, meetings, workshops.

Involving directly in the organization of cultural and social projects, the volunteers will develop their theoretical and practical skills (organizational, administrative, technical, artistic) that they will invest in their professional and personal development. All the activities will be carried out through non-formal education tools (drama, video screenings, presentations, debates).

The EVS volunteers are expected to: participate in the designated project activities; report to the coach and staff members any issues that may appear; represent and promote the volunteer statute and values; bring innovation and creativity to the project.
