Resumo: The Community where the volunteers will work is located in the NE of Romania, in the Moldavia region. The city has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Romanian social, cultural, academic and artistic life.
As of 2011, itself has a population of 263,410 (the fourth most populous Romanian city), the metropolitan area is home to about 350,000 residents, while the population of the peri-urban area exceeds 500,000 residents. Home to the first Romanian university and to the first engineering school, it is the second largest university centre in the country and accommodates over 75,000 students in 5 public and 7 private universities.
The volunteers will be able to discover the local culture and get to know the particularities of the area, will interact, initially through the local volunteers, with the environment and the city residents, will participate in various activities organized in the community and will share with the community the culture and the particularities of their region of origin, facilitating an overall multi-cultural experience and cultural learning process.
The activities in which the volunteers will be involved will be conducted in a safe environment that respects, protects and promotes their rights and welfare. For this purpose effective procedures and arrangements will be provided in order to promote and safeguard their welfare and protection, which will contribute to a learning experience under appropriate conditions. But in the same time we will be careful to give them an environment that can help them gain abilities of self – management like living on their own, administrating their own money and sharing a living spaces with others where there are rules and responsibilities.
Through constant dialogue and meetings between young people from different backgrounds and cultures, the activities of the Association help prevent and fight against prejudice, racism and all attitudes that lead to the exclusion of the young people, especially young people with special needs.
The volunteers will have the opportunity to become familiar with the Romanian language and will be able to hold for the other volunteers and the youth in the community a beginner course in their native language. The linguistic and cultural diversity will be promoted and the promotion of national values will be encouraged.
The programs of the Association will be accessible to all young people, without discrimination on grounds of gender, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability or sexual orientation.
The volunteers will be involved in activities aimed at disseminating information on the project developed, its objectives, results, they will be involved in the production of informational or promotional materials, photos, press releases and the writing of articles for local newspapers, magazines, websites.
The volunteers will be involved in the activities the association runs in the local community, will be able to develop programs in the cultural and artistic area with emphasis on rural and urban development and cultural education, which may help them draw full benefit of their personal experience, but as well facilitate achieving their own learning objectives attached to this Program.
The founding principles of the EU, such as freedom, democracy, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and the rule of law will be discussed. The shared values of humanity will be promoted: family, work, right to private life, citizenship, gender equality, tolerance, justice, non discrimination and pluralism.
The Association will provide volunteers with the following opportunities:
- a new life experience: they will learn to live together with other young people, to manage themselves, to cook, to manage a budget and to plan some leisure activities. For some of them it may be the first experience of this kind which will provide them the opportunity to get to know themselves better and to get to know another environment;
- a new learning experience, a new framework, another community, a new environment;
- an opportunity to discover themselves, to get to know their own limits, strengths and resources;
- an opportunity to build, to change, to act, to become involved both individually and within the group;
- a chance to gather new competences in areas connected to sustainable development with a special focus on creative industries, cultural education and up-cycling;
- an opportunity to take advantage of this experience, making the most of their abilities, knowledge, strengths and improving their self-confidence, in order to be able to share their own experience with other young people and sometimes with the local community;
- the chance to take initiative and start their own activities in order to achieve all their learning objectives, but respecting the association’s mission and planned activities;
- involvement in different community activities;
- discovery of a new culture and of a different life reality;
Even if the volunteers believe that they know themselves, through this experience, far from home, family, friends, in a new environment they will rediscover themselves. Maybe, to their surprise, they will discover new skills, new concerns and new ways of solving problems.

The Association will provide volunteers with the following services:
- a mentor responsible for providing personal support;
- supervision and counseling personnel to help volunteers in activities already planned or start new ones;
- support and training;
- language support and language learning opportunities;
- accommodation, meals, local transport;
- access to the activities for which the volunteer signed up for through EVS.
EVS volunteers will have well established tasks that they will have to bring to an end in time. The tasks can be deployed both in team and individually, can involve working directly with the beneficiaries or can regard administrative tasks, which are very varied and go from creative activities to activities that require knowledge in a particular field.

Perfil: The volunteers interested in applying for a project will be pre-scanned by the partner associations in which they will complete a questionnaire which will help them discover whether the proposed project activities are fit for them or not.
As well, the volunteers interested in the projects of our organization have to apply with a resume, a motivational letter and then will sustain an interview via Skype. If the volunteer is underage, one of his parents may participate at the interview. The purpose of the interview is to collect information on the volunteer’s motivation and interests, to evaluate the volunteer’s ability to integrate in the organization and provide him/her with the information about the project, organization, its activities, beneficiaries and the other local volunteers. If the volunteers are not able to use a PC or do not have internet access, the sending organization will assist them in order to conduct the interview. The interview will provide the opportunity to counsel the volunteers in order to clarify during the selection process what needs to be done, how is going to be done and with whom they will work during the volunteering stage. Furthermore, the interview is an opportunity for the volunteer to assess the possibilities of integration in the organization and its activities from their own perspective.
Generally speaking the interview involves the exchange of information on three specific directions: information the organization wants to transmit to the volunteer, information the organization wishes to learn about the volunteer and information that the volunteer wants to learn about the organization.
In selecting the volunteers, we intend to maintain a gender balance among the volunteers and they will be selected regardless of their background. Also, volunteers will be selected regardless of their ethnic group, religion, sexual orientation, political opinion, etc. No previous qualifications, no certain educational level, no specific experiences and no more than the basic linguistic knowledge will be required.
Also, in selecting the volunteers we aim to find a match between them and our organization, meaning that we intend to find the right volunteers for the organization's activities, the ones that are highly motivated for the voluntary work.
Age: 18 until 30 years old.

Tarefas: The role of EVS volunteers in the host organization:
- The volunteers bring unique qualities within the organization, special skills and knowledge about their needs and the needs of the community, thus they can contribute to providing to our beneficiaries customized services;
- They will be involved in different types of activities during the project they were selected for, for example: assisting the staff with the logistics and/or creative part of organizing cultural events – festivals, street shows, etc. or smaller scale activities like workshops on the theme of recycling and up-cycling, entrepreneurship, street animation, etc.; depending on their motivation and abilities the volunteers can facilitate creative workshops or camps addressed to children and young people.
- The volunteers will participate in weekly meetings during which the work of the past week will reviewed and new directions for future work will be set;
- The volunteers will contribute with ideas and suggestions for improving the quality of services provided to beneficiaries. Due to our creative oriented activities there are a lot of possibilities for volunteers to take initiative and come up with activities on their own, which, with the help of the association, can be put into practice.
- The volunteers will be involved in the dissemination of the project results, both locally and in their home country or at the European level;
- The volunteers will inform the community about our organization, our mission and vision.
We will take all necessary measures to ensure an open and transparent recruitment process, accessible to all young people aged 16 to 30 who want to engage in voluntary activities at the European level.
We seek people curious and eager to learn new things and to share experiences with others, young people eager to make new friends, to form useful skills and to develop their creativity and green abilities, to get to know different people, to feel useful, to accomplish something, to be part of a team, to take responsibility and initiative. We seek young people who will respect the values of the local community and the environment; young people involved and motivated to create a bridge between the various European communities.
The volunteers will be responsible for the activities involving the project, therefore we expect them to take the task seriously and take responsibility for the carried out activity and to cooperate with the volunteers and the staff of the association.
