Resumo: Some of the activities will however take place in cooperation with different organisations in smaller places in Slovenia. Additional activities, mostly seminars and trainings, will take place around Europe.
The city it is its administrative, political, cultural, scientific and university centre. With its 350.000 inhabitants it belongs to the group of smaller European metropolis. Especially in the last years it is becoming more and more opened to foreigners, which offer diversity, appreciated especially by youth. Despite its relatively small size the city offers an extremely lively cultural life, the numerous events including various forms of high culture and different alternative artistic forms and a very rich art-film culture.
During their free time, young people can participate in many sportive and cultural activities in the city. Many of these are very affordable for students and other young people and some of them are free of charge. Information about leisure time activities are easily accesible and gathered in meeting points of young people, libraries, faculties, etc.).
The main centre for alternative cultures while Cankarjev dom together with numerous museums, theathers and concert halls represents the centre of institutionalized culture. In the meantime students' clubs make shure that there is never shortage of entertainment.
The office of the organization is situated in the centre of the city, close to quarters of several other organizations that we collaborate with and at the same time very close to the city´s main train station. This proximity facilitates collaboration and enables greater exchange of experiences between collaborating organizations. The organization is incorporated in an international network of oraganizations that we intensively collaborate with in different fields in the frame of international volunteering. This network enables us intense and quality international cooperation with other European organizations with whum we share our vision and plan of activities.
Perfil: In selecting the candidate, more than on biographies we focus on the motivation letter of volunteers. In the first round we eliminate candidates whose motivation does not correspond to the nature of EVS projects. In the next stage of the selection process we organize a meeting of entire staff team and volunteers with whom the EVS volunteers will cooperate. Together we choose a small number of volunteers, for which we believe that will contribute most to the creation and development of innovative activities in which they would participate.
We contact selected candidates by phone and talk with them about their general views on central issues of our operations and activities (human rights, global learning, international volunteering and its role for the (balanced) social development at local and global community, etc...) about their motivation for participation in the EVS project and more specifically about their motivation for the selection of the project, as proposed by our organization.
An essential part of the conversation we devote to the questions about the views of candidates on the activities that are running within our organization, what they think may be contributing to existing projects and their upgrading, and in particular the development of new activities in the framework of our organization.
We want to know what are their expectations and desires, about the experience of the EVS as a whole, as well as in connection with specific activities and operations, in which they would cooperate in the frame of our project, we emphasize that in the designing of individual actions we count on their self-initiative and that the duties and responsibilities of selected candidates will finally be determined according to their preferences, experiences, skills and talents after a joint interview on arrival on the project.

Tarefas: Help at coordination of Club of Volunteers
Club volunteers at the organization represents a space where young people from the global and the local community can cooperate and implement activities (workshops, round tables, presentations, international programs, promotion of values of the organization, etc..) which fall within the range of activities of the organization; volunteerism, sustainable development, peacekeeping, anti-discrimination, strengthening the active participation and involvement of young people with fewer opportunities, etc.. We offer volunteers the space, professional support and motivation to carry out their own ideas. EVS volunteers assist in the coordination and management of the Club of volunteers and spread the spectrum of activities of the club with their ideas and add a European dimension.
Inside the Club volunteers we also organize trainings for volunteers who are going to international voluntary work camps, volunteers can assist in coordinating camps in Slovenia, as well as volunteers may themselves organize an international work camp in Slovenia.
