Resumo: The hosting organization is situated in a city with many young people, as there exist various schools and also institutions for higher education (Fachhochschule). In the city you have a lot of facilities to do sports or attend youth and cultural events. In the city are also organisations based on the cultural background of other nationalities (e.g. turkish) and the city has its on department for integration. There is a lively civil society covering many intersting topics, where people can engage if they want to.
The economic situation of the people in the city is quite stable.

It is 30 minutes with the train to Vienna and the office of the organization is located 2 minutes away from the main train station and 10 minutes from the main square of the city. The public transport with busses is quite good and also the facilities for biking are well developed.

Perfil: We invite volunteers to our organisation, who are interested and engaged in global issues such as human rights, fair trade, climate change, intercultural work, migration, gender issues, sustainability and similar topics. In our job we have quite different fields to cover and also different types of work. Most of the time we are working in the office, but often we also have workshops somewhere in Lower Austria and also from time to time we have international meetings in e.g. Grundtvig Learning Partnerships abroad.

If a volunteer is ready to experience different works from computer-based work to organising work to speaking and facilitating a workshop in a school together with a professional trainer (sometimes in english), then you are in the right place at the organization.

The volunteer should have a good enough level of english skills for communication, internet research and similar tasks. He or she should be willing to improve the german skills, as a german language course will be provided by the coordinating EVS-partner in Lower Austria.

The volunteer should be able to handle a computer and its basic programmes (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, …).

Tarefas: The organization can firstly offer an insight in the work of a long established NGO in the field of development education. The volunteer can join all the “typical” works, such as project application writing, project implementation, project documentation and reflection. In our organisation you can see the different types of Projects, starting from school-projects over projects in a city or a region up to projects on a European level.

Secondly the volunteer can join us and our speakers in the work as a facilitator during workshops in schools. This allows the volunteer to develop topic-wise but also regarding his skills in presentation, group dynamics, speaking, …
Thirdly the volunteer can work with us in different projects. This involves the thematic research for these various topics and he or she also follows how we work strategically.
Fourthly we are always open for topics, in which the volunteer is interested in. If he or she wants to work in a special field, this is possible as long as it fits to the broader strategy of the organisation. The volunteer will get support in his work by experienced professionals.

Fifthly we offer an interesting network of local partner organisations, with which we cooperate. These involve e.g. theatre-organisations , youth organisations or Fair Trade organisation
