Resumo: Volunteers will cooperate with our association in all the activities organised by the hosting organization. They will be involved in educational activities of the association especially in march, april, may and october and they will be involved in summer school during june and september. During all their volunteering, they will be responsible of the mainteinance of natural parks, managed by the association. In the international work camps that association organizes, they will be the example and the leaders.

It is 3 kilometres far from the town, 15 km from Conegliano and 30 from Treviso. Fontigo was involved in a great emigration towards European countries such as France and Belgium in the fifties, after the second world war. Now we have been having the opposite phenomenon: many people from Africa and Asia come to live in Fontigo. Local people are well disposed towards foreigners, in particulars towards young people, which also they help with language and sharing the traditional food they cooked or vegetables they grew.

Volunteers will be lodged in an old villa, provided of all necessary facilities, located 100 metres from the CEA Media Piave, which was a small museum of old agricultural tools and traditional objects till few years ago.

In our organization there are teachers and university students that will organize the italian lessons for the volunteers which will be 5 days a week for the first weeks and 2 times a week until the end of the project. Volunteers will be given books, movies and other usefull instruments for learning the italian language. They will be accompanied by the naturalistic guides in variety of activities with people, which they will be in an environment that they can hear, learn and practice the language with strangers. First weeks will be especially dedicated to history and culture of “Quartier di Piave” which is the area in that volunteers will spend all their volunteering.

In their freetime volunteers will be with members and friends of organization that will bring them to historical, cultural and artistical places, festivals and events, which are quite frequently around the area.

Perfil: Volunteers must have uttermost respect for nature and environment, able to do manual works, open minded and being able to live in a small village. Other ideal characteristics would be already having an volunteering experience, and being able to share a house with other people peacefully.
age: 13 until 30 years old

Tarefas: Many of the games and simple activities we realize with the children can be done in english, or in the mother language of the volunteers to also make italian children understand and feel the european union.

Volunteers will be always the main actors in all the activities and events that the organization creates. It will be their job (with help and observation of italian volunteers) the mainteinance of bicycle and pedestrian paths in naturalistic areas, such as cutting the grass, repairing the little bridges and fences, control of observation points and signposting. Also it will be one of their responsibility to keep the exposition of CEA Media Piave in order to the openings to public and its advertisment.They will be present and active during all the educational and cultural activities of the association.
They will also let us get to know their cultures, to have a deeper exchange, through preparing few evenings or dinners, which they may be preparing one of the typical dish of their countries.

Also there will be big importance given to their personal projects; a project that is completely thought and realized by the volunteer with the help of the association, to make the experience even more meaning full and last their work even after they turn back to their own countries. (Until now, volunteers that have been hosted made their projects on importance of the bats, about importance of the insects in the ecosystem, and also made a table game and virtual game about Fontane Bianche and respect of environment.)
