related linguistic tasks by experienced staff, the accommodation, meals and pocket money to volunteers. And enforce
the rights and obligations of tutors and volunteers and so that is established in the Program Guide.

The volunteer activities are to be performed on the premises of the Foundation known as "Children's City",
opened in 1965. This facility is a residential and educational centre; it was created to be a small autonomous city,
where the children lived the experience of being members of a community and actively participate in the management
of the same. The centre is equipped with a variety of services: home, school, educational workshops, nursing, laundry,
landscaped areas, zoo, swimming pool, sports facilities, theatre, print, orchards, etc.. The centre covers an area of
41,150.11 m², is situated in the meadow, on the old road from Málaga No. 193, between the outlying
districts of Chana and Bobadilla, with easy communication with the city centre by main roads and bus line 4 urban
and surrounded by a field environment and nature.
The accommodation of the volunteers at the centre of "Children's City", in the main building in a single room
and properly equipped, the volunteers will be provided with the dining service centre. Since this is a residential school
the volunteers must comply with the following standards and commitments of operation:
- Respect workers, residents and neighbours of the home at all times.
- Avoid excessive noise outside the permitted hours.
- The order and cleanliness of the rooms is the responsibility of the residents who occupy them.
- Out of respect for others and as demand for personal hygiene is essential to have a minimum of care with the
housekeeping staff.
- The rooms are private, and therefore, it is not permitted for outsiders to enter without permission, authorization or
consent of the occupant.
- Any resident cannot take an object from the rest of the residents.
- Neither home, nor any of its facilities will serve to cover up any wrongdoing.
- At home is prohibited any sexual practices.
- Do not introduce or maintain any pets or animals on the rooms.
- Smoking is prohibited in the entire centre.
- Meals should be taken with children, both at home and in the dining rooms.
- The centre is not responsible for any transportation fees.
- The Foundation is not responsible for loss of personal items.
- It is essential to be punctual.
- It is essential to respect the children and youth.
- Any person accepted into the school must sign a confidentiality document, so it does not reveal any act of minors
related to their privacy.
Perfil: 1. PREFERRED PROFILE OF VOLUNTEERS:
Priority will be given in selecting volunteers with the following characteristics:
- Youth who have had fewer opportunities to travel, study or work in other countries, learn other languages, etc.
- Motivated to work and live in a school community multiethnic, interfaith, multilingual.
- Willingness to teamwork and cooperative toward educational intervention in informal spaces and with capabilities to
conflict resolution, dynamic groups, etc.
- May be particularly valued the positive impact of volunteer experience for personal and professional future.
Will be consider positively the collaboration with sending organizations aimed at the educational
intervention with children and young people at risk of social exclusion, especially if young people have made
volunteer service with them.
2. SELECTION PROCESS:
The Foundation guarantees an open and transparent selection process, conducted by program or resources
coordinators where volunteers will participate in “Children's City”, and supported by the management team of
volunteer service, respecting the confidentiality and integrity of the data provided, as provided by law. The selection
is made according to the assessment criteria above and the selection of volunteers with special needs will be
supported by an evaluation of the technical support that can be offered for the optimal development of the service.
The selection process has the following phases: receiving applications and selection of potential
volunteers; telephone or video-chat interviews; assessment of interests, motivations and skills; and development of an
Activity Agreement.
Age: 18 until 30 years old.
Tarefas: 1. What volunteers can bring to City of Children?
In general, volunteers can help the organization in the centre daily activities. Specifically, collaborate with
staff members in the activities developed, as well as provide support to the children in their educational and
emotional health as well as promoting intercultural values and European citizenship.
2. What volunteers can learn?
Considering the core competencies described in the Lifelong Learning Programme and adapting the process
to Youthpass, we consider that working “Children’s City” will allow volunteers to learn following competencies:
· Learning to learn and Entrepreneurship and personal initiative : Respecting their adaptation and their
progressive autonomy in activities to develop, setting their own goals to achieve, always supported by
volunteer tutors and technical team; detecting training needs and being assigned spaces for the development
of own activities proceeding from its creativity, special motivation and personal initiative.
· Communication in a foreign language: by being involved in many not-formal and informal situations and
supported by the Castilian language training. Highlighting the areas of professional area educational
intervention, of culture, leisure and sport, and the scenic area, etc.
· Basic skills in science : specifically in the area of Educational Sciences and Social Sciences. Discovering
methodological approaches: Pedagogy of affection, Intervention in leisure and free time, etc.. , Developing
and applying dynamic techniques and tools of the educational intervention: Family Systemic Model, group
facilitation, etc. Also in the centre develop innovative experiences in the field of education as 'learning
community', the 'Programme commitments and motivation', the 'Space for Peace Programme', etc. in which
volunteers can participate.
· Social and civic competences : to develop through coexistence and active participation in the activities of the
educational community of "Children's City" noted for its cultural diversity, it involves people from over 25
nationalities. The features of the centre and its work are specially conditioned to promote the development of
personal skills and promoting democratic values, peace, multiculturalism, healthy living, respect and
preservation of the environment, etc.
· Cultural awareness and expression : by the development and promotion of musical, performing, literary and
visual activities of the centre. These activities are complemented by visits or trips to museums, parks, etc..
All environment intends to develop creative skills, along with a climate of understanding and respect for the
culture and the different cultural samples.
These skills will be addressed primarily in informal processes which provide structuring tools that allow them
to put into practice the learning and knowledge for accreditation.
3. Training program and activities of the organization in which volunteers can participate.
The centre has mechanisms and strategies for the education and training of professionals (teachers, educators,
volunteers, etc.) which will be tailored to the specific training needs of European volunteers, previously detected. We
view this program on adaptation to European volunteering as a continuous process with no formal activities and
workshops and a growing awareness on the part of the volunteer, along with the use of continuous assessment tools of
knowledge, skills and competencies to be developed between volunteers and their tutors. However, these will be
supplemented with formal training activities in areas required: linguistic, technical, etc. It includes motor learning as
volunteers’ active participation in school activities, especially the weekly team meetings, which show some
interesting learning opportunities for the assumed operating dynamics.
4. Potential activities and general and specific tasks to different areas.
ACTIVITIES AND GENERAL TASKS:
- Collaborate with professional in team meetings about coordination and monitoring of the beneficiaries of the
service.
- Collaborate with the monitors, their guiding educators in designing dynamic educational workshops and group
dynamics.
- Support monitors, educators or counsellors in activities directed study, reinforcing English workshops, employment
workshops, sports activities, games, etc.
- Assist the beneficiary population in the acquisition and / or development of social skills, cultural and linguistic.
- Assist in activities and daily tasks of running the centre.
TASK:
DAILY:
• Help children to develop independence in personal care and household set up: display personal hygiene, standards of
hygiene and cleanliness in shared housing, making the bed, doing laundry, etc.
• Accompany children on school buses, at extra-school activities, doctor visit, visit administrative offices (consulates,
SAE, etc.)
• Help young people in organizing quadrants household cleaning.
• Helping Brothers and youth in the maintenance and preservation of the facilities and services: gardening, feeding
animals, horticulture, maintenance halls, etc.
• Accompany young people in delivering CVs observing the possible social skills, communication or other that should
improve.
• Facilitate activities of play, recreation and sport: storytelling, games, movies, crafts, hiking, soccer, basketball, etc.
PERIODICALS:
• Support educators and counsellorsin the design and implementation of training workshops three times a week: job,
healthy habits, personal autonomy, sexual education, kitchen, Castilian, English, French, etc.
• Support for children and youth to external resources activities once a week: sports, games, leisure, sensitization, etc.
• Support for the psychologist in group and individual therapy once a week.
• Participation in team meetings to monitoring children and young people, as well as information on the family or the
relevant administration once a week.
• Participation at home's meetings of home once a week.
OCCASIONAL
• Organization of cultural festivals and days indicated: Feast of the Sacrifice, the month of Ramadan, Christmas,
Peace Day, week of multiculturalism, international day of human rights, etc.
• Participate and assist in the organization of the annual meetings of cohabitation for children, young people and
professionals with other organizations with common goals.
• Collaboration in the transporting the centre’s packaging material, cleaning facilities, etc. of winter or summer
5. Activities that volunteers can create in Children's City:
- Recreational, educational, cultural and sports activities in center facilities, the municipality or other partner
organizations: sports league, traditional dances, yoga, sightseeing or in natural settings, cine-forum, theater,
crafts, recycling, bicycle mechanics, etc.
- Recreational workshops and training on foreign languages, jobs in Europe, European citizenship,
associations’ and participation, etc.
- Training workshops for professionals on approaches, experiences and best practices of other organizations.
- Design strategies and educational tools such as language learning games, educational use of the orchard, etc.
From the Volunteer Management Team will be receptive to the proposition that those activities deemed
appropriate and given the human, technical and development resources.
6. Schedule type.
MONDAY: 2 hour morning or afternoon aimed at the realization of the activities and tasks outlined.
2 hours of morning or afternoon aimed at training workshops for volunteers.
TUESDAY: 8 hours earmarked for activities and tasks described by program.
WEDNESDAY: 6 hours devoted to activities and tasks described by program.
2 hours aimed at team meetings.
THURSDAY: 8 hours earmarked for activities and tasks described by program
FRIDAY: 2 hour morning or afternoon meeting aimed at tutors.
3 hour morning or afternoon aimed at training workshops for volunteers and activities to design
their own initiative.
