Resumo: A/ Environnement du projet: The Calandreta is in LANGUEDOC ROUSSILLON, south of France in the little town call Pézenas. This region is composed of 5 counties; one on them is Hérault where we have our office. On the economic side, we can say that there are two important activities: tourism and vinery. Pézenas is only at 20 kilometres from the Mediterranean see, the area is also rich with his patrimony heritage and is environment so that make this place an important place for tourism. Vineyard is also a very important activity in all this area. Pézenas is a touristy town with a very rich historical patrimony, also well known by the times the great author Molière spent in this town and by a French singer called Boby Lapointe. This is a town of 8000 inhabitants and its geographical situation (on the road between Lyon and Barcelona and on the road between Clermont Ferrand and Béziers) make it a touristy place with a local economy. Many other places are also wonderful and will be possible to visit. The neighbouring of the see, cities like Montpellier (45 mn), Béziers (25 mn), touristic places like St Guilhem le Désert, le Cirque de Navacelles, la Couvertoirade, Le cirque de Mourèze,…, will be opportunities for the volunteer do discover and visit.

Perfil: The selection of the volunteer will be done together by people from Calendreta and from Concordia. It's sure that a volunteer who already worked with children or who has a technical knowledge (music, culture…) would interest us very much. The most important point will be the motivation of the youth that we will try to detect with mail and phone exchanges. The two partners are already working with youth with many different profiles: Classical youth as we can say but also youth with less opportunity who might need (not necessary) a specific tutor and we could be ready to welcome such a youth. We are not, unfortunately able to welcome youth with mobility or sensorial difficulties for security reasons or places that are not possible for this kind of young people. Concordia is in the EVS since the beginning and have many partners asking for place. Through their common organisation, the Alliance, Concordia received many applications from partners and that might be a security to work with them.

Tarefas: B/ Activités proposées aux volontaires S.V.E. - The European side is the main reason for their proposal to welcome a volunteer. 60 children are in this school and the relationship with this volunteer" will be certainly very positive and will open their eyes on Europe and intercultural aspects. The volunteer will have to propose some activities linked with their country and this will permit to learn more on this project. This school teaches Occitan to the children but also makes a big work of sensibility to other European languages as English and Spanish. The volunteer will be with his language but also with his culture and he will teach these parts of his life like songs, games…He will be as a teacher in the pedagogical team, even he will not have the same responsability. That's will allowed him a good integration and his work will be valorised. The activities will be : - Help to the teachers; - Help and leisure around the meal time (before, during and after the meal and during the afternoon map. - Help during outside activities; - Teaching during specific and/or linguistic activities; We hope that the volunteer will have some cultural, artistic or sports hobbies or qualifications? That will give the opportunity to organise his own activity with the children. The Calendreta is in Pézenas, 15 mn walking from Concordia where he/she will live. The volunteer with the help of the parents and the pedagogical team will have the possibility to obtain new knowledge or pedagogical techniques in term of work with children.

Condições: The volunteer will live in the flat of the regional delegation of Concordia. The volunteer will have her/his own room on the first level of the office. There is an other room used for eventual welcome of a member of the associative life of Concordia. The volunteer will get to the kitchen and the bathroom that are in the office. Each room has a terrace looking down and the surroundings. The office is in the centre of the town facilitating the journey the volunteer will have to do to go to work, to go shopping and to go to buy food. The volunteer will have pocket money, food indemnity. They'll be paid each beginning of month into her/his own account. The volunteer will have to maintain her/his room so that the common rooms as kitchen or bathroom. The volunteer will have the possibility to welcome her/his friends and family. We'll be very vigilant about the respect of the neighbours. A computer with internet is at the welcomed person's disposal in the sitting room, so it will be accessible to the volunteer during her/his EVS.
