Resumo: The office of the association is located in the Lutheran Centre in the centre of town - the capital of Poland.
The city is with a population of 1,65 million people and it is the largest university (13 state universities and academies, 55 private high schools) and business centre in the country. The city is that is also attractive in cultural and tourist terms. A number of well-known cultural events of international importance are held here.

Perfil: Having in mind the type of activities we do, we have created a profile matching the ideal volunteer:
We would like to host someone who is really interested in Poland, who wants to help others, who is open for new activities, who wants to try to work in a charity organization. Because the association is a church institution, we would like to host someone who is respectful to the Christian values, who is a calm and balanced person. We prefer the volunteer who promotes a healthy life style.
For a good communication in the project, basic knowledge of English/German would be helpful.
Creativeness and art skills are very welcome. For the work in the office, basic PC-knowledge is beneficial.
Age: 18 until 30 years old.

Tarefas: The successful volunteer will be responsible for:
help with basic office work such as: taking care of correspondence, writing e-mails, printing, photocopying, sending faxes etc.,/
help with organizing conferences and other meetings/events
help with organizing summer and winter camps (for children and elderly)
providing assistance to foreign guests and visitors; daily assistance, organizing meetings, evenings out advertisement of the events
help with organizing charity actions cooperation with the local partner organizations
administration of the web-site (translating documents, photo gallery, etc.)
The volunteer will also work in a Sunday school for children aged 2-6. It will be every Sunday from 11 to 12 am and the volunteer will meet the children and co-workers in the church for Sunday service. After half an hour the whole group will go to the school and give assistance where it is needed. An alternative to working in the Sunday school, could be working in the nursing home in Tabita in Konstancin Jeziorna.

Volunteers can specialize in a specific area of work such as media, administration or project management. They will help to prepare for up-coming events like conference projects, seminar projects or trainings. They will also be able to create new projects or project management.
Volunteers will work in our office together with a project manager to prepare all organizational aspects of these projects.
A volunteer in such projects can for example envision their own promotion campaign and implement it together with the project manager. The volunteer can expect the encouragement and support of their leaders and co-workers throughout their time as a part of our team.
Volunteers will take part in a Polish Language (3 months) to better equip them to communicate with students and staff. The volunteers will be working according to the EVS rules (max 35h/week) but the daily schedule can not yet be fixed and will change according to the need of a given activity. The schedules will be agreed on upon the volunteer and the staff's agreement. As for the activities done in the office, the volunteers will be provided with a working space, computer and internet access. The office is also equipped with all necessary sanitary facilities such as a kitchen, bathroom and sitting lounge which can be widely used by the volunteer.
The volunteer will live in a student's dormitory located in the same building as the association office and they will share the office and working space with their mentor or coordinator. The role of the volunteer will be to support the office by doing all the necessary small tasks that need to be done in an office (such as mentioned above). They will be a part of our work team and take part in all events or special occasions hosted for the office team. They will have possibilities to take part, and to prepare an international events, and could be responsible for taking care of international quest of Polish association (preparing programme of their visit, coordinating the visit, etc.).
Some of the activities such as conferences, charity actions, support of the parish-diaconal work will be done outside the office. As the volunteers begin to become comfortable with us, they will be able to present ideas to start and run new activities as well. Volunteers will also be able to receive training (association organizes three seminars during the project). Volunteers will be given free/social time to interact with co-workers, friends etc. outside of the work environment. We will encourage volunteers to make the most of their time in Poland and when possible will provide opportunities for them to see the sights of Poland.
Additionally, the volunteers will be provided with all other EVS allowances.
