Resumo: The voluntary service will be held in the local community of the city and in the rural communities around the city. The city is located about 230 km northwest of Bucharest, located in the hilly area of the Southern Carpathians. The city is known in Romania as a town of the wine, renowned as wine region.
In the city there is a large community of Rroma who face social problems as well as economic problems.
The main occupation of the inhabitants from the city is the agriculture.
The main topics of EVS placement are "intergenerational dialogue" and "outdoor and sport activities."
The project is not located in a live-in-community.
Perfil: - Age between 18-30 years.
- Balanced number of girls and boys.
- Young people interested in working with young people from rural Roma communities.
- Young people with fewer opportunities, facing economical obstacles.
- Young people who show creativity, spontaneity and desire to work in an intercultural environment.
The existence of an available place for the EVS project will be communicated through:
- organizing information meetings with young people from the local partner communities.
- posting announcements about the existence of available places on the website of the host organization and the websites of the sending organizations.
-posting ads on social media pages as Facebook.
-posting advertising posters in the offices of the partners.
The selection of candidates will be done in two steps. In the first step, each potential candidate will send a CV and a motivation letter to the sending organizations. Based on these documents, the candidates will be invited to a discussion with the project coordinator from the sending organization that will pre-select 2 or 3 possible candidates. After completing preselection, the sending organization will submit the CVs and cover letters to the host organization, which will invite the possible volunteers to an interview via Skype. This interview will follow the volunteers’ spontaneity, creativity and desire to work in Roma communities in support of Roma communities. After the interview, it will be finished the selection of the volunteers.
The selection process will be open to all potential volunteers ensuring universal accessibility to EVS. Thus, it is not requested that volunteers have a certain ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, political opinion. We will not ask for any clarifications or educational level in the selection of volunteers. The selection process will be transparent, so volunteers can see in real time how is done the selection. On the association website will be published in due time the interview sheet models, and the candidates will receive real-time answers to their questions from both sending organizations and the host organization. The final list of the selected volunteers will be displayed on the website of the Romanian promoter. The volunteers who want to know why they were not selected, they will receive explanation about the criteria and reasons that led to they have not been selected.
Tarefas: The EVS internship will be adapted to the learning needs of volunteers. The volunteers will be encouraged and guided by trained staff and mentors to become actively involved in EVS stage, to take initiative and demonstrate creativity. The focus will be on the volunteers’ creativity, their spirit of initiative and desire to contribute to the local communities where youth activities will be implemented.
At the end of the internship EVS volunteers will gain:

- Understanding the diversity.
- Being tolerant.
3. Competencies of:
- Working with editing software for posters, flyers, photos and videos.
- Administrating a website.
- Planning, leadership and project management.

- Learning to learn.
The competencies, knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired during the stage period will be found in EVS Youthpass certificate. This certificate will include project activities, the tasks and role of EVS volunteers in the stage and detailed description of the skills acquired by volunteer during the EVS stage.
The role and tasks of volunteers in the host organization will be:
- Initiating and organizing fundraising campaigns in order to help the elderly from nursing home from Lungesti.
- Activities in support of the elderly from the nursing home in Lungesti. Thus, guided by qualified staff of the association and staff of the nursing home, the volunteers will do recreational activities with the elderly from the center, leisure activities, will help the elderly to write an email and use the internet and the computer.
- Organizing sports events for young people from the local communities. Initiating intercultural sports competitions.
- Promoting in the local communities the outdoor and sports activities.
- Organizing an information media campaign. Supported by the qualifid staff of the association in partnership with Antidrug National Agency, National Council for Combating Discrimination and County Agency for Employment, the volunteers will prepare and implement a media campaign in Roma communities, campaign which will be focused on presenting civil rights, importance of participation in European elections, racism, prejudice, discrimination and drug use, fighting poverty and marginalization. Within the media campaign, the volunteers will develop promotional posters, flyers information, press releases, news for television, commercials, will participate in TV shows.
The activities that can be organized by volunteers in the host organization:
- Regional seminars whose objectives will be to promote youth activities, promote European Voluntary Service and organizing debates on the fight against poverty and marginalization in the Roma community
- Organizing an annual conference in which will be discussed the EVS principles and will be promoted the youth participation in EVS projects.
- Preparation of promotional materials that will ensure the visibility of EVS stage (publicity about the EVS activities, flyers about the EVS voluntary activities).
- Develop press releases about the European Voluntary Service.
- Organizing a media campaign about promoting Roma minority rights and personal and professional development of young people in these communities.
- Collection of information about customs and traditions from Roma communities and traditional food recipes.
