Resumo: The association is located in the city, the capital of Slovenia, which has280,000 inhabitants. It is situated in central Slovenia, and is the geographical, cultural, scientific, economic, political and administrative center of Slovenia. The city is a university town, therefore a lot of young people live here. In the city one can find 15museums, 41 galleries, 11 theatres and four professional orchestras, several cinemas, public libraries, every Sunday there is also a flea market in the old town. Every year the city hosts more than 10,000cultural events, among them 10 international festivals of theatre, music (eg. the city Summer Festival and Trnfest) and art in general. In addition to cultural, architectural and other sights, the city is ideal base for daytrips to the rest of Slovenia, as well as in neighbouring countries, due to its location and connectedness to other regions/countries.
Public transport in the city is well organized, there is city transport as well as use of Bicikelj – public bicycle, intended to overcome short distances near the city centre.
There are more diverse activities and ways of spending free time-sport, culture, creativity, subculture, entertainment, etc..
The association has its office in Technology park in the city, which is located 4 kilometres from the city centre and is connected to the centre by public transport (LPP line 14 and 14B). The volunteer will share his/her workplace with the association’s team, which consists of 2 full time employed and 3 people, working on contract.
Upon arrival the volunteer will have to take into account and respect the values of the association, which are: cooperation, responsibility, respect, friendship, optimism, with which the volunteer will get the help of the mentor. At the same time, the functioning of the association is based on equality and open communication, in which the volunteer will also be included. The association forms its work together, on weekly meetings, where current tasks are reviewed, new ideas are suggested and possible professional or personal problems are solved. The working principle alone is based on trust and cooperation with the team members, the problems are solved, not only at the weekly meetings, but also regularly on a daily basis (both professional as those of personal nature). The volunteer will be treated as part of the team and be involved in all communication, appointments, meetings and other activities that take place during the working process. In the initial phase we will explain the volunteer our way of working and communication within the team and check if there are any problems for the volunteer due to various reasons. If there are any, the work will be accordingly adapted. We expect that in the beginning of the cooperation, the volunteer will not be as active, but after the introductory period the volunteer will be better acquainted with work and tasks, so the level of participation will increase and the volunteer’s voice will represent an equal vote to other members of the team.
The volunteer will have an introductory period that will last one month, in which the entire team will participate. Each of them will present key issues from his/her work that the volunteer has to know at his/her work. After the introductory period, the coordinator will ensure smooth implementation of the agreed tasks, take care for proper integration of the volunteer into the team and solving on-going problems, conflicts and challenges.
In addition to introduction into the working environment of the association, some attention will also be given to the introduction into the local environment. The volunteer’s coordinator will arrange that help, additional information or escort in arranging administrative requirements (accommodation, opening a bank account, applying for temporary residence, acquisition of new, Slovenian phone number and health insurance etc.) are available to the volunteer. The association will also take care of suitable accommodation of the volunteer (separate bedroom or own room, shared kitchen, bathroom, used by up to 4 roommates, internet connection, closeness of local transport). After the introductory period the association will coordinate with the volunteer his/her wishes about the nutrition and based on that, the desired form of meals will be provided. It can also be arranged that the volunteer gets meal allowance and he/she alone takes care for the food options. The volunteer will get the support of the association team – a tour of the surrounding shops, places where the members of the association eat etc. If the volunteer will have special restrictions or requirements regarding nutrition the most appropriate option will be chosen.
Thereby, the volunteer will get the support and assistance from all the team members in the implementation of all administrative requirements, which the volunteer upon his/her arrival, during his/her stay and on departure will have to fulfill.
On the basis of desire, interests and particularly, the financial capacity of the volunteer, the mentor, the coordinator and the members of the association team will help the volunteer find leisure activities. Given the wide range of activities the volunteer, with the help of all parties included, will find adequate and appropriate activities.

Potential candidates will be accepted by the management of the association and in the process will also be included mentor Ksenija Spiler Bozic. Sending organization should be a non-government youth organization, active in the field of European identity, gender euality, intergenerational activities, youth politics, media and communications, which had already implemented the project EVS experience, as a host and sending organization, because the association is just starting the EVS story and it would also be easier to solve any potencial problems. We wishto establish quality partnership with the organization, because this is the only way to achieve good cooperation in the preparation of the volunteer, coordination of wishes, expectations and administrative requirements. At the same time we wish to establish an adequate communication with the sending organization, providing quality preparation and support for any difficulties encountered during the stay of the volunteer in the host organization.

Tarefas: The association provides the volunteers with a dynamic environment and cooperation with a young team. With all the activities that the association carries out, the volunteer will get the opportunity to gain new knowledge and an exciting learning experience. Knowledge, that we accumulated in 3 years of operation, mainly covers project management, building new partnerships, organizing networking events and how to connect diverse stakeholders. In addition, the volunteer will gain new language skillsthrough living in Slovenia, meet Slovenian mentality, culture, history and current Slovenian events. Beside the working experience and knowledge that the association offers, the volunteer will get to know the operating mode of the association, values and cooperation with the members and other oganizations, with which the Institute cooperates. Through this the volunteer will gain new communication skills, learn about the possible connections between non-government, private and public sector through a variety of projects, through cooperation with interesting individuals the volunteer gets an experience of a supportive environment in which an individual is supported in achieving his/her own potentials and ideas. Knowledge, experience and skills that the volunteer can gain at the association, will help him/her after the return to his/her home country where he/she will have the opportunity to use it in his/her future projects, the implementation of ideas, work and private life. The experience of living and working in Slovenia will bring the volunteer a new perspective and understanding of the world, expanded horizons, great cross-cultutral understanding and tolerance and in general an unforgettable life experience.
Through cooperation with the volunteer, the association will acquire new knowledge, ideas, values, fresh look, different opinion, good practical examples and projects, implemented in other organizations. All of this, the association can include in its work, which can help improve the impact of the Institute. Within the cooperation with the volunteer new projects may be developed and establish new contacts abroad, which can help spread the idea of the association abroad.
The volunteer will be involved in regular activities of the association, therefore the volunteer will be involved in the preparation and execution of events, implementation of ongoing projects and search of new ideas and partners for events and projects. The volunteer will get to know the project Simbioz@ e – literate Slovenia. This project that first took place in 2011, will be repeated in 2012 and is expected to be repeated also in 2013. We would also like to expand this project into other European countries, where it is necessary to find foreign partners, which could be one of the volunteer's tasks. The volunteer would gain new knowledge about the project, which includes intergenerational participation and volunteering, as well as knowledge and experience in the field of international cooperation with other organizations and establishing new partnerships. The project team is composed of six young people, who carry out the project activities separately from that of the association with the purpose that all activities are conducted smoothly. The volunteer will be involvedwith the Simbioz@ project more or less intense, depending on his/her interests and preferences. If the volunteer would want to cooperate more intense, he/she may join the Simbioz@ team completely.
Work takes place from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 to 16:30 in the office of the association, meaning 8 hours a day, ie. 40 hours a week. This will also include the volunteer's language training. Some activities of the association (events, educations) take place in the afternoon or evening time, and,if necessary, the volunteerwill start to work accordingly lateron the day of the event. The volunteer will be allowed to use free days which belong to him/her and participate inEVS training.
In free time, afternoons, evenings and weekends, the volunteer will have time for him/herself and his/her activities. The mentor, coordinator, team of the association and its members will ensure proper inclusion and integration of the volunteer into the local environment and encounter with local culture, customs, architecture, mentality and way of life. The help with integrating into the local environment will be maximum at arrival and early stay in Slovenia or when needed. People, mentioned above, will help the volunteer meet the local environment (links, means of transport, nearest shops, pharmacies, etc.) and present to him/her ways of spending freetime, according to interests and abbilitites of the volunteer (sports area, bars, restaurants, shops, malls, theaters, libraries, cinemas, cultural centers, museums, parks, local attractions, etc.).Through monitoring volunteer's leisure activities and socializing with him/her, all people mentioned above, will help the volunteer to meet the local culture and make new contacts through which the volunteer will futher learn about the Slovenian culture and develop his/her own opportunities for spending free time.
The volunteer will daily communicate with the association team, Simbioz@ e – literate Slovenia team, members and partner organizations, with which the association cooperates. These are sponsors of the association, which include mostly companies and other organizations with which the Institute participates (eg. Challenge:Future, AmCham Slovenia, Manager's Association of Slovenia, British Chamber of Commerce Slovenia, British Council Slovenia, the association (Institute for Young Entrepreneurs), Student Section of Marketing Association of Slovenia, Student section of the Society of Public Relations, etc.). If the volunteer will actively participate in the project Simbioz@ in 2013, he/she will be in daily contact with the team of the project, which consists of 6 members, and partners of the project. Simbioz@ team operates separately from the team of the association, although it is Institute's project. Also the work of the Simbioz@ team is performed at another location, on the premises of the agency Publicis, one of the most important partners of the project. In order to conduct smooth operation of both, the association's activities and Simbioz@'s, the teams are separated – Simbioz@ is a national volunteer project that requires a different way of working than the regular work of the association. The volunteer will get to know the project and the team, and join them if he/she will have the interest to do so. Cooperation in organizations is connected to the implementation of joint events, education and other projects. With the organization Challenge:Future the association cooperates on a weekly basis, since both of them connect proactive young people. Therefore, the association, at conferences organized by Challenge:Future, participates both with content and organization. In the future, it is planned to organize more joint events, as the team of Challenge:Future is also international. The volunteer will have frequent contact with them and a chance to learn about their activities and projects, in which the volunteer can be included. The volunteer will have occasional contacts with other organizations (AmCham Slovenia, Manager's ,Association of Slovenia British Chamber of Commerce Slovenia, British Council Slovenia, Young Entrepreneur, Student Section of the Marketing Association of Slovenia, Student Section of Society for Public Relations), with which the association participates on a monthly basis through mutual participation and promotion of events and assistance in any of the projects, activities etc. However, the volunteer will be in touch with these organizations and learn more about their work. Our members often contact the association when they need help with their projects, ideas etc. The team of the Institute tries its best to help – either with the promotion, necessary information, search for new employment, connecting them with relevant partners etc. In this way the volunteer will get to know the members' projects and help them with his/her own experience and contacts.
Through this, the volunteer will have the opportunity to participate with different people and meet more diverse ideas and projects. In doing so, the association will encourage the volunteerto develop a new project, either in the context of the association or in any of the participating organizations or be included in any of the projects, which he/she likes and where he/she will be gaining new learning experience and at the same time contribute to the project with his/her knowledge and experience. The association will provide the volunteer with the necessary support for the implementation of the project and assure that he/she will dedicate to the project without any disturbance and allow implementation of the project in any other organization (where the association will help make arrangements to implement this option). The association will check the satisfaction of the volunteer with workin another organization.
The volunteer will be, under the supervision of the coordinator, involved in all activities of the association.
As mentioned before, the association will allow the volunteer language training, which will fall within the scope of 40 hours weekly. During the introductory period we will coordinate with his/her desire of learning Slovenian or other language and based on that, organize the volunteer's participation in language course or individual lessons.
