Resumo: Lot of people says that Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And they’re right. It’s a capital city of Czech Republic, historical pearl of Europe.

Prague is really good place for live, work and free time spending. Plenty of theatres, every day concerts, cinemas, nice town and landscape, lot of young and active people.

And obviously lot of very inspiring and colourful people from Czech or other countries are around Mlejn so volunteers don’t have to be worried to stay abandoned.

The association is one of the culture centres in Prague. Part of the city, Prague 5 – StodA—lky is housing estate and garden suburb on the west of the Prague. Right next to the association is big park and lot of other parks is close to public transport. You can easily reach town center by metro or bus in 15min.

Building of association is now (2013) two years after reconstruction. In the ground floor there is reception and big theatre hall (for around 250 sitting people) and a rear for this. There is also non smoking restaurant and city library (but these are not managed by them. In cellar there is small recording studio and some rooms for music lessons. In the first floor there are two more rooms for music lessons and sport activities and office space.

Volunteer won’t have his/her own office, but can share with others some space to work or rest (table, wardrobe, small kitchen, telephone, computer with internet etc.).
We will help to find flat with roommates to our volunteer (near association or in some easily attainable place in Prague (on metro or bus line). For rent and food volunteer will get allowance and it depends on himself.

Around the association is all the time very diverse crowd of people (Czech or foreigners) from group of teachers, participants of the courses or performers. Also we will be happy to create space for presentation EVS and volunteers culture to people from neighborhood by some events in the association or discussions in schools around.

Perfil: We need person who is open and wants to learn new things and is able to easily go and help if see that anybody help needs. Somebody who likes music, culture and sport, new people and kids (and have some own ideas which we can help him/her to carry out).
Our volunteers we will chose based on send CV, than we’ll send our own questionnaire (mostly about motivation), than we’ll compare every volunteer (experiences, energy and happines :-D ) and will try to contact everyone personally by email, face book or Skype-call to find the most suitable person for us (and for who we are the best place).

We already have some friendly organizations but searching for volunteers will be totally open and dependent on activity and interest of volunteers.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The association focuses on music, theatre, sport and education in leisure time. We organize concerts, theatre performances, festivals, kid’s camps and workshops. Also we offer music courses for kids and adults (drums, guitar, basse guitar, piano, singing), acrobatic courses (circus skills and aerial acrobacy), sport courses (pilates), folk dances and so on...
Volunteer will be part of our team and at the beginning will/can try every work in th association (like everybody here). From participating on concerts and performances like organization (tickets, garderobe, taking care about the place before and after...), work with sound equipment and light design, making photo and video material, graphic work on posters and programs needed, office work. Also can participate on courses for kids and adults (can help the lectures to teach if is interested – mostly in circus courses). After we’ll find what is the best for volunteer and where are his/her interests and skills. Than volunteer can prepare his/her own project connected with his/her country.

For the Short term EVS:
This experience is mostly about to see and learn, how does culture centre like ours works and how are the people in Czech Republic. Try everything what happens, meet new people, finding new friends. Volunteer will participate on kids courses (we teach 5 lessons (1,5h) a week on the afternoons, different ages (4-7; 7-11; 11-18), 14 youngsters in course) and on adults lessons (twice a week on the evenings, around 8 person in the lesson) – not on all of them (depends on interest). Also will help us during concerts and other cultural actions.
We’ll try to show as much as possible from Prague (in historic, social, culture and any other way), not even in Mlejns team company but also with our friends and youngsters.
At the end of EVS we will organize some discussions with our youngsters and team members (at association or in schools in the neighbourhood) about experience from EVS, how was it, problems and advantages of short time EVS.
Volunteer will most of all improve his/her communication, social and personal skills, ability to work in team.

We will be happy if volunteer will try to reach many our youngsters (and neighbors) by some events focused on his/her country and on EVS experiences and active learning and living.
Improvment of communication, social and personal skills is obvious. Also will improve his/her civic competences (understanding, tolerance, and respect), ability to cooperate and to work in team, to lead small groups and to organize games/activities/small events. And of course will learn that solve any problem is never a big deal...

Working hours depends on program of the association. Usually there are circus and acrobatic courses 3x week, than some concerts or theatre 1-4x week. Courses starts at the afternoon, performances around 7pm and sometimes last until midnight. So mornings and lunch times are usually free. We also work during the weekends – those hours will be replaced by free time other days.

At the beginning volunteer will try easy works and help our association team, all the time with somebody to translate or help. During time we´ll together find where the interests of volunteer will lead us.

And all the time there is somebody in the building who can help or give some advice.
Mlejns team has work meetings every week (for 1 hour – just to concrete works on the next week) and we will manage some special meetings with volunteer and coordinator (to concrete work for next week, to reflex how does everything goes, to solve problems or doubts).
