Resumo: This public association carries its activities in an autonomous-territorial unit within the structure of Moldova, with a special legal status. Population is about 155.6 thousand people (4.6% of the country's population resides in the territory . The people account for 82.1% of the total number of residents of the autonomous. Moldovans, Russians, Ukrainians, Bulgarians and Roma are represented by small local communities in different villages. The majority (about 69%) lives in the countryside.
Moreover Russian and Moldovan (Romanian) are the official languages. The majority of the population prefers to speak Russian language.
The organization is situated in the southern part of the country. The favourable geographical position is provided by the proximity to the seaports of Odessa, Ilychovsk (Ukraine), river ports on Danube Gurgulesti and to the Chisinau airport.
The distance between administrative centre and the airport is 100 km. Another airport is available in Odessa (Ukraine). The air tickets from European counties both to Moldova and Ukraine are very expensive; so many citizens of EU countries prefer to fly by low cost airlines not directly to Chisinau airport, but to Bucharest (capital of Romania). The way from Bucharest to the center or airport takes approximately 6-7 hours by bus or train.
The volunteers would be of great help to our organisation in running more efficiently our projects and generally would be very opportune to the country as a whole considering the fact that Moldova is still getting acquainted to the western style of thinking, working and dealing with the social problems.
Perfil: The association public association is interested in volunteers with basics of English (or other relevant international languages as Russian or German), self-starters and initiative, open-minded and prepared for challenges. In order to have a positive experience, it is very important for the volunteer to bring a lot of initiative and motivation to her/his participation in activities with young people. She/he should be open minded about different areas of work.
The volunteers are informed via internet and direct discussions about all the conditions of their stay in Moldova were made on-line. The candidates are selected by means of an open call for volunteers where everyone can participate regardless of their political, religious views and regardless of their gender, however we tried to make a balanced gender group of volunteers.
By study of the motivation letters and CVs of the volunteers and as well conducting direct interview via skype or phone we attempt to find the most appropriate candidates for the projects. It will not be possible in general to generate a job substitution situation as the volunteers will be doing activities not related in general to the administrative or any other field which is supporting the development and maintenance of any organisation.
This public association is open for cooperation with all types of sending organisations. At the same time it is more preferable for us to be in contact with European organisations occupied in social and cultural domain.
Age: 18-30 years old
Tarefas: The projects, initiated by the public association, give volunteers a good opportunity of personal and professional growth. Staying in Moldova and immersion in the culture is a nice chance to develop intercultural tolerance and to increase European awareness. Regardless of the project, all the volunteers will be in permanent contact with local non-governmental leaders and student community from the city. by participating in the organisation of different activities like public actions, fairs, information meetings in the state university, seminars and trainings, intercultural evenings, etc.
For example in 2011 we proposed the project "EU Reporter - European reporter in Moldova" aims at covering the lack of information and promotion of the culture and traditions via series of photo and video reportages which would reveal to the national and international community the insights of the mostly unknown culture of an ethnic minority from Moldova, namely the minority. On the other hand the volunteers will inform Moldovan society about European integration processes, as well as providing issue-related support to government bodies, media, NGOs and specialized research institutions.
