Resumo: The city is located at the North of Spain, in the region of Astures. It has around 85.000 habitants. It is the third most populated city in the region and there are only 28 kilometers to Oviedo, the administrative center of Asturies. It is also just 25 km. Away from Gijón, the most populated city. We are very well conected with both centres either by bus or train with services every 20 minutes.

The main character of the history of the city is the river, the ships port and the comercial activity. For decades, the economy was centered in the siderugic sectos while now it is living a reestructurative process towards the tourism and other tipe of industry. The old part of the city has been recogniced as an Artistic and Historic Placement. In the surroundings you can find pretty rural spots and beaches. The cultural offer is cover all year round with live music, theatre, espositions, and events . Despite not being an university city the student population has increased during the last years with the opening of the Art School.

Perfil: The oragization is open to host any young person that enjoys doing outdoors activities, is easy going, willing to participate, has iniciative and value the group spirit. It is important also the concer about finding out and parcticing dinamics for a more susnainable world.
The selection of the volunteers will be done along with the rest of the organizations: sending, host and coordinating.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: We are interested in people that mainly want to support and work in an agroecologic garden, wich is right now the main tool of the asociation now a days. The activities are mainly outdoors and it might be hard and sometimes it can be also monotonous.

The weather in the north of Spain, were we are settle, can be cold and windy and rainy for some months. Previous experience in organic gardening or agroecology would be appreciated, but not at all necesary. The tasks in the field will be your main occupation, but you can dedicate one day a week to organice activities for kids and prepare divulgation materials. Writting articles, organicing gatherings, discussions, participating in the regional networks, seed exchanges, etc. It depends on your skills and personal projects.

Usually meals are at the garden and they are vegan. Everybody has to cook now and then ;0) All organic and vegetables from the garden. Volunteers have to come to the garden either by bus or cycling, wich takes around 20 minutes uphill to come and 10 minutes downhill to go back home aproximately...

It is easier if likeminded people apply: non smokers, healthy and simple lifestyle searchers, easy going, happy and looking forward to get your hands dirty. The tasks are not just harvesting or pruning tomatoes, they involve physical actvities like weeding, lifting weight and managing the gardening tools like full wheelbarrows and spades...

Horário: Exaple of the winter timetable:

Monday -Tusday-Thursday- Friday

930-1430: Cooperate in the activities of the garden, help with the mantienance and organization of the infomration for the workshops, value how the week has gone and plan the activities for the next one between everyone.

1500-1700

Finish the duties of the morning and plan the activities for the next day.

Wednesday
1030-1230 Participate in the preparation of the divulgation material for the wokshops in schools or asociations, develop a personal projects, to to educative activities about agroecology, medicinal plants, management of seeds, yoga, etc.

1730-1900 Spanish lesson
