Resumo: The project which we intend to implement in the county, meet the objectives and priorities of the Youth in Action program, focusing on the European voluntary service. This project came from the need to promote voluntary activities in the field of protecting the environment both in our association and the local community in the county.

Through this project we want to welcome the policies of the European Commission in volunteer work mainly due to the fact that probably in 2011, the European Commission will declare this year the European Year of Volunteer Work.
So we will set up a volunteer center in the County, which will function as a base for human resources and information for other youth organizations.

In the context in which our association is developing voluntary small projects with local Romanian volunteers in this project we want externalize the experience we have accumulated so far in volunteer work and realized but also to continuously exchange information on improving volunteer activities. Also the major concern of our organization is to promote environmental education among young people and promoting National Park, in the local and international community.

So, through this project we want to offer our support to the National Park, for its promotion, for promoting environmental education in the schools in the vicinity of the park and also to promote outdoor activities among young people.

The National Park, spreads over an area of 23.000 hectares, but unfortunately only has 6 employees that cope with the difficult challenges that this park offers. They only manage to deal with maintaining the park, having insufficient human resources to promote the park in the local community and to organize social events to protect the environment. In this context, with this project, we want to support the the Park, to promote it locally and internationally but also by involving young people in activities to protect the environment.
In fact, the project will be implemented at the local community of the county, where volunteers will combine physical activities and outdoor activities in The National Park with activities in schools around the Park in the spirit of promoting ecological education and environment protection among the pupils. Like this the volunteers will have the opportunity to be in contact with rural communities from the county, urban communities, pupils aged 7-18 years belonging to Rroma minority, teachers, representatives of local public authorities.

THE HOST PLACEMENT IS NOT LOCATED IN A LIVE-IN COMMUNITY

Volunteers will be involved in all phases of the project including the training and assessment, so that they will actively participate in decisions concerning the choice of the most effective and instructive ways of working, they will define and track, guided by mentors, learning objectives for the entire training period, will make contact with the community, will initiate actions within the campaign as they are planned but will adapt and create new ones, they will attract other members of the community in their actions, will determine the awareness and participation of other youngsters in the greening of the Park, will contribute to restructuring and reorganizing decisions of the actions generated by the interim evaluation and the processing sessions of learning experiences, will make decisions about continuing the project and their future plans that will involve new skills acquired in this training. In the training of volunteers on Stages of an information and awareness campaign they will play an active role, they will be those who will make for the benefit of the project activity, the imagination, creativity, adaptability and initiative and civic spirit. This training will help develop knowledge related to sustainable development and environmental protection in the national and European context, they will learn by discovering the global problems that mankind face and which are the solutions at hand, as young volunteers who want to get involved actively in the community. They will be encouraged to participate in the decision-making process of the project, the choice of methods they would use in the campaign, through which they will multiply that information in the community through various forms.By the power of own example, volunteers can have a great impact on the local community with who they will permanently come into contact especially through the young people from the host organization who will support them in all activities in relation to community members.
