Resumo: Geographical, Economical Environment
The project will be held in the city in the office of the organization. The city, the capital of Slovakia, is situated in the centre of Europe in the South-western part of Slovakia and has about 450 000 inhabitants. Majority of citizens are of Slovak nationality, there is a significant Hungarian minority. English and German are spoken mainly by younger generation. The city is situated not far from Hungarian, Austrian and Czech borders.

The project also will take place at our International camps of voluntary work around Slovakia where EVS volunteers will promote the aim of the project, voluntarism and also participate on voluntary activities and youth mobility through voluntarism. EVS volunteers will have also possibility to learn more about Slovakia and its culture and habits by meeting local people at place of realization of International camps of voluntary work. The voluntary camps are realizated at different parts of Slovakia.

The project "THE MESSENGER" will take place both in our office, during preparation phase of the project’s workshop and it will move to the different voluntary camps all around Slovakia. On international workcamps volunteeers will carry out their workshop and discuss the viewpoints of volunteers from Slovakia and abroad. After travelling around Slovakia volunteers will spend the last part of the project in our office to evaluate their activities and create expected outcomes of what they have been doing.

About the office of the hosting organization
Our office is situated not far from the city centre, next to the Main bus station. Our organization consists of 400 volunteers, who are connected by passion to travelling and getting to know foreign cultures. However, in the office, you can find just 3 people working full-time.

The hosting organization is supported by the work and enthusiasm of numerous volunteers and partners. Financial support is provided among the others by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic, National Agency for the Youth Programme, various other sponsors and donors.

The host placement is located in our office. It consists of working with youth. There are no special conditions and rules that apply for the volunteer. Of course, we require strict no drug using and no alcohol consuming during the contact with youngsters.

Perfil: Our criteria are very open. However, the project is focused on working with youth. We would be very happy to host the volunteer with some communication skills and interests in this topic (volunteering, leisure time of youth, workcamps). It would be helpful if the volunteer has some knowledge about theme of our project and would be motivated in working with youth and about international workcamps which are our main activities. Of course we require no drugs use to protect our young volunteers. We would be happy if the volunteer will be interested in Slovakia, its people and culture and wish to learn Slovak language. He/she could be communicative, open minded, creative and ready to work with young people. The life at the organization and in the city can be hectic sometimes so we will be glad if volunteers will be flexible and independent (in the case of their free time ☺). The main criteria are the openness and tolerance as the organization is working with young people from around the world
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: Taking part on the preparation and realization of our activities which are mostly based on organizing leisure time activities for young people: We would like to involve the EVS volunteer in various activities which we organize. In the beginning we will introduce our activities to the volunteer and it will be up to him/her in which he/she will get involved. It will be chosen according to his/her abilities and skills. But we would encourage him/her to try to participate on activities on which he/she could develop and learn some new experiences and skills. The volunteer would be involved in the whole process of preparing and realizing of the activity. Of course we will help him/her; we will work in a team. We will always explain him/her our idea of how we will organize the activity and we would welcome his/her initiation and contribution with creative ideas and inputs.
