Resumo: Lithuania is a country in Northern Europe, the largest in Baltics. Lithuania has population about 3.2 million people in 2011. The capital of Lithuania is Vilnius. The Lithuanians are a Baltic people, and the official language is Lithuanian.
Lithuania is a member of NATO, the Council of Europe, and the European Union. Lithuania is also a full member of the Schengen Agreement. The United Nations Human Development Index lists Lithuania as a "Very High Human Development" country.
VILNIUS
Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania, and its largest city, with a population of 554,060 people in 2011.It is located in the southeast of the country. It is the second biggest city of the Baltic states, after Riga. It lies on the bank of Neris river.
Vilnius is a capital of Lithuania with more than 240 000 young people of about 540 000 inhabitants.
Vilnius is also famous for great inter-organization cooperation as the biggest youth projects (festivals, conferences, exhibitions, civil activities, etc.) are being developed and implemented by numerous youth organizations of regional and national levels.
Youth to youth – is a principle, which represents Vilnius youth best. Youth ideas and proposals are being heard in all sectors – public and private as well. Youth enterprises are highly supported by business people and youth policy is implemented in accordance to national and local strategic documents in major levels of governance. This cooperation shows Vilnius is youth friendly city.
What is more, Vilnius is located in a very beautiful and developed region in Lithuania: cultural heritage of ancient castles and their remains are incorporated in modern city infrastructure; surrounding lakes and forests as well as widely expanded environmentally-friendly infrastructure are key elements representing Vilnius as a modern, developing, youth and environmentally-friendly city.

Perfil: The recruitment of future volunteers we expect to be clear and organised. During several months, data of different candidates will be collected and studied. After this selection will be made by our initiative group.
Requirements are: mimimum knowledge of English, interested in rescue, sheltering and rehoming of animals, any experience in the working field, general characteristics etc. Also we would prefer it if the candidate would have some experience in photography or would have skills in design or advertising field. As a minimum requirement the volunteer must be motivated for the activities carried out at the project, preferably having some previous experience and special interest in the field. It is important to mention that volunteer should not be afraid of dogs or cats and certainly should know if he or she have any allergy to animals.
The selected candidates will be then contacted to ask if they are still available for the project. Then, all staffmembers have a meeting together, and make a top 3 of their best candidates and talk about them. In the end, the EVS-coordinator makes his selection, and contacts the candidate with the good news.

Tarefas: All activities for every volunteer are focused on nonformal learning, intercultural learning, personal and professional development.
The foundation of our organization is our volunteers who keep contributing their ideas, efforts and resources to Lesė.
The volunteering activities:
1. Directly related to animals:
- is catching and transporting stray cats for the program Trap-Neuter-Release
2. Various tasks in the shelter:
- cleaning cages and rooms;
- feeding;
- providing treatment procedures;
- walking dogs.
3. We welcome all who wish not only to save animals, but also help with administrative work:
- posters, design of leaflets
- photographing pets
- increasing social awareness
- searching for potential sponsorship.

The role and tasks of the volunteer(s)
• Walking, feeding dogs;
• Cleaning cages and rooms in the shelter;
• Cosmetic pets care (washing, haircutting, preparing for photoshoot atc.);
• Helping in summer/autumn collective assistance;
• Photographing pets;
• Sharing ads of pets to foreign and national announcement portals;
• Participating with other volunteers in national Dogs show;
• Communication with foreign countries, writting articles to foreign communities in Lithuania;
• Project A. Searching for potential sponsorship/partneship;
• Project B. Spreading information about animal welfare organisations, responsibilities while volunteering in such organisations, about animal rights in Lithuanian schools.
• Visiting our teams in other cities: Kaunas, Jonava.
