Resumo: The Foundation was founded in February 1999, as a non-partisan, not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO). The mission of the organisation is to develop programs for young people, promoting the inter-cultural exchange and understanding between different ethnic groups. The foundation has two departments, one is the information and resources centre for ngo's and young people and the second one is the department for volunteering and inter-cultural education for young people. In the past 3 years the Foundation had been developed long term partnership with local schools and County Educational department. In frame of this partnership The Foundation has been working with teachers and help them to develop variety of educational activities about topics as Human Right Education, Inter-cultural education and after school activities aimed, to develop different capacities of young people. The beneficiaries of the Foundation are youngsters from the city and county including young people with less opportunity from rural areas.

The city is among the largest cities situated in western Romania, being 12 km from the Hungarian border and located in Bihor County. The town has approximately 230,000 inhabitants, including 70,000 young people, and contains a series of public transport links (buses, trams) and facilities expected for a city (art galleries, bars, café's, disco's, fashion, museum's, restaurants, supermarkets).

From an economic viewpoint, the city is one of the most developed urban centres in Romania, having a diversified industry in fields such as electricity, the chemical industry, the aluminium industry, mechanics, the processing industry, the food industry, and tourism. Bihor County is well known for being part of the Carpathian mountain chain, containing beautiful, natural landscapes, and being popular with local and foreign tourists. In addition, the region around the city offers numerous resources. For example near the city is the town of Baile Felix, where thermal water treatment is available and taken up by tourists.

Culturally, the city is a multi-ethnic community where Romanians live together with Czech, German, Hungarian, Jewish and Rroma minorities. The city's University also adds to its cultural heritage, containing over 11,000 students from locations across Romania.

The Foundation offers volunteer variety of learning opportunities in the frame of the Foundation current departments and the cooperation projects were the Foundation acts as a partner organisation.
In the the Foundation volunteers have opportunities to work in information and resources centre for ngo's department or in department for volunteering and inter-cultural education for young people.

Tarefas: - Helping in preparation of the food for the animals (Zoo buys food and also receive donation fruits and vegetables from different supermarkets. Volunteers help in preparation of this food daily for every animal based on certain recipes provided by the biologist ) - helping in cleaning cages and animal living areas (of course only at non dangerous animals and only with supervision from Zoo personal ) - feeding non dangerous animals - assist in making a movie about zoo and its animals, a movie for kids presenting the animals and some curiosities about them - Based on volunteers’ interest, they can "adopt” an animal or two. This means that volunteers can choose to spend more time with specific animals to know them better, be more friendly with them and even present them with their specific details to visitors at the Zoo - assist in guiding groups speaking English at their visit in the Zoo - assist Zoo in organizing events in or outside Zoo area - make a presentation of their EVS experience as text and video. The purposes of this presentation is to help other young people understand benefits of EVS and to promote volunteering in the zoo of the city. The presentation will be made public on the web site, on the Guven web site, promoted on different e-groups dedicated to youth and youth workers, posted in different web sites and electronic bulletins dedicated to youth and youth workers - organize different games and activities for young people and kids visiting the Zoo
