Resumo: The usual area of activities of IPD is South West Oltenia region in the main cities as well as the small-medium rural communities in the areas.
For the first EVS project IPD will focus on the city where is has its main office and the most solid partnership structure and infrastructure.
With a population of little over 300.000 inhabitants, the city is the sixth largest Romanian city and the capital of Dolj County. Is situated near the east bank of the river Jiu in central Oltenia. In terms of economic development, The city is a developing city with a growing rate especially in services. Of the city's working population (about 110,000 persons), 38% are employed in industry, 15% in trade and repair services, 10% in transport and storage, 8% in education, 5.7% in the medical field. The public transportation in the city consists of 3 trolley tram lines and 17 bus lines. Several minibus lines are also in service. The city also has a small airport.
Plenty of cultural and religious landmarks (Oltenia Museum, Art Museum, St. Dumitru Church, casa Baniei, ect.), nature spots (Botanic Garden, Romanescu Park ), shopping centers and leisure time locations (clubs, cinemas, sport centers, swimming pools) are available. The National Theatre has achieved great fame being awarded many international prizes at festivals all over the world. The Art Museum with its permanent "C. Brancusi" exhibition is worth visiting. There are also many other places of cultural interest.
The town is famous for its university, which gladly accepts foreign students. The city is also a big University center with two big Universities: University and University of Medicine and Pharmacy attended by students from all over Oltenia.
Within the city IPD has a strong partnership network by collaborating with the local council and city hall, having partnerships with the university, Conventia Organizatiilor Studentesti(COS), the Center of Counseling and Orientation(CCOP) and well as the County Departament for Youth and Sports(DJST) as well as various educational institutions in the city(schools and high schools)
The projects in the city will have as a main focus increasing awareness on European Active Citizenship, informing and awareness rising on EU values and empowering youth to take part in local youth policy development and decision making that concerns youth. To achieve this we plan to use EVS as a tool for awareness rising and empowerment by bringing international teams of volunteers to work with youth from the city in the framework of various educational institutions such as schools and high schools, the University, the student NGO`s etc. The envisioned activities revolve around organising non-formal activities and workshops.

They shall receive guidance from IPD on how to ensure an open and transparent selection process by receiving a set of minimum standards they must fallow for promotion: disseminate the available placements by internet newsletters, web announcements, newspaper and other media channels as well as posting fliers in education institutions and other locations frequented by youngsters (cinemas, clubs, parks, shopping centers, etc).
The interested youngsters will be called for interview after receiving in advance a full description of the project. The candidatures of those who match the volunteer profile will be forwarded to IPD who will schedule an online Skype interview with each volunteer. The interview serves 2 purposes: it gives exhaustive information on the project to the volunteer in order to ensure a compatibility between the expectations of the volunteers and the reality of the project; on the other hand it serves as a way to select amongst the candidates based on how motivated the volunteers are.
On the side of IPD we shall start disseminate the vacant placements, using the public available dissemination channels:
