Resumo: The Organisation as the city's landmark is situated on a nice hill, above the town. The town with its 28.901 inhabitants has got a very good infrastructure. The city has a railway station with long-distance traffic train services; just in front of the institution you will find a bus stop.

The medieval city centre with its pedestrian zone is inviting the guests to stroll up and down the street. All goods/products for daily use are available in the city centre and you will find cafés, bars and restaurants.

The gentle hilly landscape with its meadows, forests and hillside vineyards offers a lot of nice possibilities for excursions and is therefore called "Swabian Toscana". Underneath the castle the river is flowing where you have the opportunity of canoeing. In our Youth Village there is a canoe club situated which organises canoe excursions throughout the year.

The European Volunteer will directly live in the Castle Area. This area includes newly constructed buildings with residential school, communication centres, as well as the administration department of the Youth Village.

The town is situated in the metropolregion. Our capital city is reachable within 15 minutes by public transport. It offers a lot of art work, cultural and sports events; you will find museums and entertainment possibilities.

Perfil: The volunteer should take a great interest in the work with teenagers. It is very important that he is of legal age (18 ys.)until 30 years old due to our target group. A basic knowledge of the german language is an advantage. Due to our target group which we are promoting it is important for the volunteer to have a certain sophisticated level.

We can`t accept addicts and acutely mentally ill persons.
Female and male applicants will have equality of opportunity.
It is likely that applicants who have a disadvantage like socially / economically / geographically) can drop in their application.

The volunteer should be creativ, interested in working together with teenagers in difficult life situations and must have a good computer-knowledge.

Additional conditions don`t have to be fulfilled.
We are open minded for all organisations, which are accepting the values of the European Charta.

The organization has got in general a good record about european and international contacts. Especially the organization in Zehnthof in Essen/ Ruhrgebiet which is organising and supervising the European Volunteer Service has got for years reliable partnerships with different european providers and is communicating naturally established EFD-projects in this network.´

Tarefas: The European Volunteer will learn and get to know intensively the german language (language course), our students and pupils, our country, people (inhabitants) and the surroundings. There will be a possibiliy to work in our institution: in the area of leisure time pedagogy with disadvantaged young people regarding the Fun-Court - a multi functional sports field.

The volunteer gets the opportunity to gather experience in Youth Work, media pedadgogy - moreover he will gather experience in project planning and execution of the plans. The volunteer will get insights in the holistic approach of the organization and can participate in the realisation of it. During the service the volunteer will get to know the cultural offers and customs of the host country.

The target group consists of young human beings in difficult life situations between the age of 14 and 22 years. They are either doing an apprenticeship or a vocational preparation in the organization. The working time of the volunteer begins between10.00 am and 11.30 am and finishes in the evening. The volunteer will live in a spacious single sleeping room together with other trainees and volunteers, directly neighbourhooded in one of the residences on our institution place. The volunteer will share with his neighbour a bathroom and a toilet. Moreover there will be a shared kitchen, a living room and a backoffice with PC, telephone and internet facilities. The catering will be organised via our canteen kitchen and the volunteer can eat in the staff restaurant. At the weekend the vol. has the possibility to look after himsef and cook with groceries from the canteen.

Working Area: "Media Workshop"

In the media workshop the work with the teenagers will be primarily on the computer. During lunch time and in the evenings the already exisiting internet café shall be guided and supervised for the teenagers on the Castle. The volunteer will be contact person for the users and will support them by word processing or by googleing and checking on the internet. The contact person for the volunteer will be our network administrator who will train the volunteer and guide him through the work. After lunch break until the evening the volunteer will organise his own projects with the teenagers, for example publishing a Castle-newspaper or supporting the trainees whilst writing their applications on the computer. Here it is also very important for us that the volunteer will be creative with his own ideas, knowledge and skills
