Resumo: The project will take place in rural West Wales which an area of outstanding natural beauty with beautiful coastline and mountains. There will be many opportunities for the volunteer to hear Welsh being spoken as this is a very traditional part of Wales. The project will take place in this area where volunteers will carry out practical envrionmental tasks alongside professional contractors. Most of the work will involve making improvements to public access in the park (developing footpaths), creating picnic areas and information points, and also clearing scrub for reforestation.

The volunteer will be based in a youth centre/youth hostel with other international and local volunteers. They will cook as a group and volunteers are expected to help out with the cooking and cleaning of the centre. The centre is in a rural village in West Wales where Welsh language is spoken widely. However English is understood everywhere.

Perfil: This project is open to all young people – if specific support needs concerning a disability are required then are happy to talk about this

age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: By being part of a diverse group of volunteers the EVS volunteer will gain valuable group and team work skills.

The volunteer will be supported throughout the project by the EVS Co-ordinator at the hosting organization as well as 4 full time group leaders based at the project. They have all been trained to lead the group.

Opportunity to learn about the local area and global issues when delivering workshops to local young people and schools.

The role of the volunteer will be to work within the group of international volunteers and help to suport the work of maintaining footpaths, gardens and bridges in the local area. The volunteer will also have a role to play in organising workshops and events in local schools and youth groups.

The volunteer could be involved in:
- Maintaining public access to the area (footpaths)
- Developing information points about the local area
- Maintaining community gardens
- Talking to local young people about his or her culture and country
- Planning workshops and events in local schools and communities around global themes
