Resumo: This part has to be filled in only if the applicant requests to be accredited as Host Organisation. The points below are intended to serve as a guide for the description of activities foreseen by the Host Organisations.

Project environment:
Outline the project environment for the suggested voluntary Service, including the local community where the project will take place (e.g. geographical, social and economical environment). If the host placement is located in a live-in community, please include the rules and conditions that apply also for the volunteer.

The volunteers will live in the middle of the town.
The town has about 20.000 inhabitants and is situated on the north west side of the great vulcano and is very interesting located through the nature parks.

The economy is based mainly on agricultural production, food and crafts.

The population is very open minded to foreigners, the arrival of young people from other countries is a great value, not only for our organization but also for the whole community, especially our young people who will have to meet and interact with those from different cultures
The guest volunteers will be hospitated in a rather big tipical house with all necessary equipment and high comfort (a big living room, an own room for each volunteer (maximal 2 per room), a big living kitchen, two bath rooms, four terraces). All essential shops, pharmacy and even the office of the organization can be reached within a few minutes by food.
The volunteers can easily make other contacts, due to the various activities and their living position.

The office of the headquarters of the organization in the town hosting the volunteers, is equipped with several computers with Internet, printers, a projection room / meeting office and other equipment that allow the full autonomy of volunteers to carry out of organizational activities, is in the center of the country.

The organization shares the office flat with two other associations: The voluntary Red Cross of Italy and a branch of Sistema Group (working security). With both groups the organization stayes in contact and they help each other with divers activities.

Here we perform all the activities planned, the briefings and meetings to promote the development partnership, integration, growth, exchange of personnel with individual ideas, finding partners and sponsorships for the design of interventions which will later be addressed for the benefit of civil society. Also the language corses take place in the office building.

In these rooms the responsible of the association will work together with the foreign voluteers who are involved in planning projekts, in designing initiatives, coordination of volunteers and the work of organizing office.

The office is mainly open during the times 8:00 and 13:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00.
The EVS volunteers are present in accordance with the responsable president. The volunteers working time - inside and outside - will be 30 hours per week.

Perfil: Please describe the profiles of volunteers you would like to receive in your organisation. Include information on how you ensure an open and transparent recruitment process as well as the overall accessibility of EVS to all young people. Consider further information about the type of Sending Organisation you want to cooperate with. This information can help the match-making between volunteer candidates, Sending Organisations and your organisation.

We want host volunteers between 18 and 30 years. The volunteers shall speak at least a bit Italian In general, the volunteers shall be open minded, positive thinking and at least a bit slef confidented. They must be willing to accept different culture and mentalities.

The willingness of learning and a spirit of own initiative, organisative and creative capacities as well as being able for group working, a friend of nature and outdoor activities would point out a suitable volunteer. But those characters are not obligatory, especially regarding people with fewer opportunities. We will choose the volunteers together with the sending organisation one by one.

The selection of volunteers will be transparent, indipendant of their etnical or religious group, sexual or political orientation etc. We don't ask for special professional qualifications.

To allow access to all aspiring volunteers will be activated in all shapes and advertising strategies, visibility and information (websites, social networks, publishing special preprinted forms are open to all young people. with arrangements for access and criteria selection.

During all the procedure of recruitment, introduction, hospitality and actions we follow the EVS principals and the indications of the program Youth in Action. We are glad receiving the help of the national agency. We guarantee to fulfill the high quality standart of the EVS.

Tarefas: The association guarante that the volunteers participate in the process of arrival training and mid-term evaluation by the National Agency provided by EVS.

The volunteers from abroad will partecipate together with those locals from the association in divers activities mentioned. They also have the possibility to create own ideas and set them into action with the help of our stuff or the local volunteers or specially involved professionals. Like this they shall learn about their own capacitie and get self confidence by taking own responsibility.

The particular environment near by (vulcano Etna, Nebrodi Mountains and Alcantara River) are of big interest and give the volunteers the opportunity to explore that unique landscape, to get to know the special., partly endemic ore rare flora and fauna (like wild cat, gold eagle and griffon).

Beside activities in those every volunteer partecipate, we find out individual capacities and preferences of each volunteer in order to involve him or her in projects suitable. They are also welcome to create own project ideas and put them into action (with our help). Those projects can be environmental education, re-construction of nature sides, social works (disables, youngsters with social difficulties or unemployed or children from problematic families).

Playful and educational activities for children will give volunteers a good opportunity to integrate with the local language and cultural exchange.
Volunteers of the association assist in the development of project ideas.

In detail, can perform the following activities:
- Knowledge and research about the fauna and flora of Sicily, especially endangered species;
- giving information at the stand for the promotion of voluntary activities, at fairs, festivals, events, etc.. etc.
- Development of ideas to promote and increase the culture of biological agriculture , even with the help of technicians and specialized personnel.
- the opportunity to participate, if they were interested in scientific research of flora and fauna autochthonous for creating the conditions propaedeutic for the increase of biodiversity.
- helping to plan initiatives aimed at children and young people for environmental education, active participation and effective initiatives organised.
- participation in field work for environmental protection, such as: monitoring and cleaning of water courses (rivers, streams, lakes), with the involvement of students in the area.
- Office work (internet researches, secretary, translations, reporting and planning work).
- approach to the world of horses preparatory to the implementation of projects and initiatives including those targeted at specific therapy through horseback riding lessons with qualified instructors, participation in excursions in the parks.
- Inglish lessons for interested children of the scout group in exchage with Italian courses.
