Resumo: Volunteers will work and live in the suburb in the south part of Athens, a region next to the sea which has many cafes, bars, gyms, cinemas, shops and nightclubs. There are frequent buses and the tram run to the centre of Athens (40 - 60 minutes) where you can find whatever you are looking for, from archaeological sights to alternative bars. Transport stops between 12pm-5am but on Fridays and Saturdays the tram runs all night.

The EVS volunteers in this project are living in a community and are thus in a very real and personal cpontact with people from other cultures and countries in Europe and the world (so far Sri Lanka, Russia, Jordan, Tunisia).

Perfil: - Good communication skills
- Willingness to learn Greek
- Interest in disability issues
- Commitment and responsibility
- Initiative, independence and team spirit
- Patience, friendliness and a good sense of humour
- Willingness to contribute to householding tasks (cooking and cleaning)
- Relevant studies or experience are not necessary
- age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: Together with staff members, volunteers will:

a) Help in the daily care-taking of the children
Example: every day, a volunteer goes to each ward and brushes the teeth of the children or helps the nurses to wash and change them.
b) Accompany children to school or to therapies inside the center, swimming pool, horse riding

Exemple of activities:

- Swimming in the sea
- Outings (walks, caffeterias, cinema, theater, museums etc).
- Excursions and possibly accompanying residents during their holidays.
- Educational activities (e.g. cooking, educational games)
- Physical activities such as dance or basketball
- Creative free time activities (e.g. music, handicraft and anything else that both volunteers and residents find interesting).
- Socialization activities such as shopping, going to the bank or the post office etc.
- Stimulation for babies and children with heavy disabilities (music, massage, simple games, walks)
