Resumo: Regional Association for Rural Development is looking for motivated volunteers from Lithuania(1 volunteer), Austria(2 volunteers), Portugal (1 volunteer) and Italy(1 volunteer) to work in an approved EVS project in the rural areas of Romania.
The volunteer will work in a multicultural environment together with youths from Peru, Argentina and Brazil.
The strong points of the project:
- multicultural environment with volunteers from EU, Caucasus and Latin America working together in rural development;
- work with children from rural areas;
The W.A.V.E. project aims 3 dimensions: personal development, development within the host organization and community development. The W.A.V.E. programme is designed onto:
1. Social inclusion
2. Rural active citizenship
3. Cultural diversity & recreation
4. Youth rural antrepreneurship
Perfil: - aged 18 – 30,
- regardless of religion, social status, education or nationality - basic English proficiency
- open towards working with children
- open towards working with mental disabilities
- open towards working with mental elderly
- be open minded , flexible and tolerant.
Tarefas: 1) Social inclusion
- work with elderly citizens institutionalized in special centres (some of them don’t have families), elderly citizens that are not institutionalzied(senior citizens club with fixed hours where they can come and socialize),
- children coming from disorganized families that come in specialized centers for a limited period of time, children with fewer opportunities,
- children with minor mental disabilities, children with severe mental disabilities, persons with physical disabilities (they are members in a NGO specialized for people with disabilities).
2)Rural active citizenship
develop and implement extra- curricular activities for the children and pupils from the kindergarten, primary school, general school, High School and Pupils Club.
Some of these activities can be:
- Language workshops (English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, etc);
- Presentations on: equal rights, democracy, European institutions, etc;
- Workshops on photography;
3)Cultural diversity & recreation
- sports and dances, drama (theatre plays), green activities (cleaning areas, planting trees, etc),cultural activities (presentations of custom from own countries,intercultural events, traditional dances, culinary events, etc), camps, outdoor activities, raise youngsters cultural awareness, tradition and customs diversity,celebration of international days (Europe Day, International Volunteers Day,
Tolerance Day, International Thank You Day, Rroma Day, etc).
4)Youth rural entrepreneurship
In the rural environment of Romania, the concept of entrepreneurship is limited only to the idea of purchasing products from big cities and selling them with a profit in their own communities.

In most communities volunteers have a rented place that meets decent living standards. Other volunteers have the opportunity to experience the full Romanian rural experience by living with
local families. Families in rural areas are very hospitable and for sure they will treat you as a family member.
All volunteers will have their own private room with access to a kitchen,bathroom. In some cases the volunteers will have to share a room together with a roommate. However, each volunteer will still have their own bed.
