Resumo: The hosting organization is situated in a town with about 26 000 inhabitants and is situated on soft vineyards, beneath the ‚Starkenburg', a fortress dating from the middle age.

Characteristic for the picture of the town is also St. Peter, also called the Cathedral of the street on the hill. The picturesque Centre of the old town, which is characterised by its half-timbered houses, is quite well preserved.

The town is situated in the south, near the border centrally on the roads B3, B460 and A5/A67, almost half way between Heidelberg and Darmstadt and it is the most southern district town.

As far as culture is concerned, the town has a lot to offer: The Festival, the International vine market, the Tournament of shooting sticks, the International streets festival and an extended carnival with a parade.

Due to the proximity to Heidelberg and Darmstadt a great number of regional cultural and sportive activities are possible and there is also a good network for hiking over the heights of the forest.

Perfil: The project aims at all young people from 18 to max. 30 years. Neither social background, confession, sex, membership of certain institutions or associations, nor a certain level of education is requested. What is important, though, is an intercultural openness and the willingness to get involved in the culture of the host country, to learn the language and to want to bring oneself in actively into the host project. If these requirements are given, then young people with social, material, regional or disadvantages are especially taken into consideration when while choosing applicants for a voluntary service.
Age: 18 until 30 years old
Be aware that interested volunteers should in any case be able to communicate in german (at least basicly).

Tarefas: In our Education Centre the volunteers get the possibility to creatively help with civic and social education.

By bringing in their own cultural background and their social character into the seminar work, they can test and develop their skills in organisation and pedagogy. This might be very useful for their future work.

By their co-operation volunteers make experience of social structures as well as intercultural and personal experience by directly meeting young people and multiplicators.
The time of service usually lasts from Monday to Friday for 7 hours per day. If there is time of service at weekends or on holidays there is a compensation of service.

The service includes the following fields of activity:
- to help with the preparation and the following of different courses, eg. to make leaflets, to make the lists of participants, to create invitations
- to help with the contents of the seminars, eg. to do the warming-up, to present on one's own certain points of the program, to do the moderation in small groups
- to carry out certain units (depending on the interests and the possibilities of the volunteers)
- to do researches on the internet concern special subjects (eg. gender mainstreaming, cosmopolitanism, globalisation, media, world-religions, etc.
- to help to develop pedagogical modules; to select methods in order to get into the subject of the seminar, for the work in groups and the evaluation
- to help and co-operate with the instruction of the participants, as far as the organisational frame is concerned and also instructing them during seminar units and group activities.
- to accompany and look after groups while they have seminars in the Centre, especially also in the informal area, eg. giving them information about the Centre, to prepare signs and information boards , to propose leisure activities
- to help in the home economics / caretaker area.
- to help to prepare the seminar rooms and the pedagogical material (eg. maps, books, charts, setting)
- to help to deepen the contacts to our partner organisations
- to develop own projects and education units, especially for young people, eg. to present one's home country, values, perspectives for the future of the young people at home compared to the possibilities of the young people in Germany
