Resumo: Although registered in a city, the main operational office is situated in the rented space of Towns' business incubator building in another town. Space available includes 3 offices with all needed equipment including computer equipment, printers, office furniture, fax and copy machines, etc. The first is located 10 km from the biggest town. As other towns, although not situated on the cost, people's activities are related to tourism, agricultural production of olive oils, and trade. Today the city is the small, peaceful town of approximately 5.000 population with picturesque architecture of town's buildings and houses that witnesses Town's big cultural and economic past.

During the summer months, the city is very vivacious characterized with many cultural events. There are many concerts and plays being hosted in the city, an International Folk Festival- Leron and the traditional city's celebration when many people from different parts of Croatia come and enjoy themselves in different games, great music and excellent food.

In addition, due to its proximity to Pula, the volunteers will be able to go to the cinema or the theatre on a regular basis. Pula is a very vivid city, especially during the summer; numerous open air plays and concerts, beach and boats parties, Pula Film Festival, etc. Also, there are traditional handmade fests where one can find everything from handmade jewellery, clothing, household decorations, traditional food, and many other beautiful and unique things. Each year, Pula host various different world know artists who usually perform in the Arena.

During the winter, there are also many things to do; students multimedia centres, jazz festivals, Book Festival, etc. Vodnjan and Pula are connected with a safe line of public transportation.
Istrian peninsula is in general a very vivid region with beautiful ancient cities and various different Festivals; Film Festival, Adria Festival, the LegendFest, Jazz Festival, Nonverbal theatre, and numerous others.

Because of the tourism orientation, Istrian people are very opened and friendly towards foreigners, as well as very eager to reveal the Croatian, Istrian culture and traditions.

Since the hosting organization has substantial experience with volunteerism, the selected volunteer will be situated in a room of a nice, fully equipped and furnished apartment located 200 meters from the office and 150 meters from executive's director place of residence. The owners of the apartment are accustomed on hosting young people from different parts of the world, so the selected volunteers can always rely on their help, if an unexpected problem arises.

Perfil: The organization developed standardized methodology for application and selection of volunteers that apply within the Professional Improvement Programme. This procedure includes standardized questionnaire assessing potential volunteers, their basic information, their professional interests and planes, expectations, experiences. Based on the gained information, the organization makes selection of the volunteers that would benefit the most from organisation's current activities through "learning by doing" methodology. Certain requirements do exist; English language knowledge is a must, in order to communicate better with other staff members and to better understand the calls for proposal, and other EU Funds relevant information, which are mostly issued in English language.

The aim of the organization is to foster and support equal employment opportunity and embrace diversity in the organization's workforce. The profile of the most suitable candidate falls between the following frames; an individual applying for the volunteer position at the organization must be outgoing, able to learn quickly, a self-starter and independent, and a good team member with excellent communication skills. Furthermore, the applicant should possess relevant organizational and technical skills due to the amount of work the organization deals with every day and level of quality which the organization's dedicated staff has set through their hard work and effort.

In addition, since our aim is to include the selected volunteer in the local community as much as possible, he/she will be provided with Croatian and/or Italian language courses thought by the organization's former volunteers. Vodnjan, together with the entire Istrian peninsula, is a multicultural town with rich cultural and historical heritage, thus we expect from the selected volunteer to be able to work and live in such a diverse cultural environment. Even though prior experience in volunteerism is not required, the organization does insist upon 6 to 12 months of stay. The organization believes that by being a volunteer at least 6 months and up to 12 months in one place, the person gains more significant knowledge for their future career and better understanding of the environment, and thus the whole country, in which he/she is placed at, which certainly leads to intercultural sensitivity and raised awareness.

Furthermore, the volunteer gains a better sense of independence and self-initiative, better knowledge of the Croatian and/or Italian language, and improved communication and project management skills. Therefore, to ensure the most effective integration into the local society, while securing the best possible experience to the volunteers, the organization assigns a supervisor, person within the office, and a mentor, person from Vodnjan, to the selected volunteer. The supervisor's task is to guide the volunteer through different tasks he/she is assigned with and to make sure that the volunteer gains as much knowledge and experience relevant to his/hers personal and professional development. On the other hand, the mentor's duty is to offer support and guidance to the volunteer during his/hers entire stay in Croatia. The mentor should ensure effective lines of communication between the volunteer, the organization's professional staff and the landlords of the apartment the volunteer is situated in; if a problem arises between the volunteer and any of the parties mentioned above, the mentor should act as a mediator with the best interest of the volunteer at heart.

Moreover, the mentor should provide support to the volunteer in the process of integration in the community. The level of the work responsibility and task comprehensiveness assigned to the volunteer will rise on a monthly basis, while the volunteer will be required to work no more than 6 hours per day, from Monday to Friday. The organization is interested in collaborating with Sending Organizations from different business fields and different countries; our main request is that the Sending Organization works transparently and has some experience in volunteerism.

Additionally, the Sending Organization is expected to have already set rules and regulations for the volunteers; job description, accommodation, safety and security, etc. The organization will also act as a Sending Organization.

The organization puts an emphasis on learning and involvement, thus wants to create an opportunity for young people to be more mobile and to experience different cultures and meet different people while working and educating themselves. The organization will insure that the volunteer reaches a balance between the service and learning dimension of the daily work routine.
