Resumo: The hosting organization supports 86 students aged 16-25. It is located on the former crystal glass factory in the heart of historic town. The college comprises of numerous buildings on the site and includes individual craft buildings offering crafts. It hosts a retail area where a number of independent glass workers have studios, coffee shop and restaurant and retail organic food store. The college has recently won an Arts Council England and heritage Lottery grant to develop new Theatre, Drama rooms and music studios. It offers students 3 year placements on Orientation Courses which are individually geared.

The organization is situated in an urban environment, with houses, community facilities & local shops nearby. The town has a good bus service to all major towns and cities. Wales, London and all major towns and cities in the UK are easily accessible by road, rail and planes. The organization is also close to Airport which offers daily flights to most major countries. Personal cycles will be made available to all overseas volunteers.

The volunteer facilities includes accommodation in a house on the main site which offers personal lockable bedrooms, communal lounge, bathroom, office with IT and email, facilities and well appointed kitchen. The house used to be the Administration building for the Royal factory. All rooms are available during holiday periods and 1 hot meal a day is provided at the college. Organic food is given to the volunteers to enable them to provide their other meals.

The organization also has a 137 acre farm 8 miles away. Here students and voluynteers will learn how to care for animals, and involve themselves in the environmental sciences programme. Transport to and from the farm will be provided and accommodation is available at the farm.

The home has a computer room with Broad Band connection, volunteers will have access to this outside of their working hours, this includes Skype facility. As part of the development of the project the organization will install Broadband into the accommodation area for added privacy.

The organization has welcomed Overseas volunteers for a number of years, and values the contribution they bring. We aim to make this a 2 way positive experience. On a day to day basis there is a lot of fun, hard work and great reward supporting people with disabilities have positive experiences.

Volunteers make a difference.

Perfil: Volunteers are expected to behave in a socially responsible way, and in consideration to fellow volunteers and residents. Overnight guests are permissible only a temporary basis, and with permission.

Volunteers are expected to comply with the Educational Policies, Procedures & Codes of Conduct. Failure to comply with this could result in the programme being terminated. Behavior that causes concern as a result of excessive alcohol is not tolerated. The mis-use of illegal substances will not be tolerated and will result in instant dismissal.
