Resumo:
With EVS project we wish to encourage active citizenship, solidarity and tolerance between younsters. We also want to promote intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding and cooperation, we wish to teach young people new things and show them they can use their knowledge with the aim of changing future. EVS projects in general promote and implement informal education with regular evaluations. Young people like to travel and they are very mobile, so we think that EVS is perfect opportunity for them, to reach their goals.

Perfil: - We welcome anyone between 18 and 30 years of age regardless of gender, rase and religion. We are looking for volunteers with strong desire for intercultural learning and those who are willing to socialize. Someone who is team oriented, but also prepared to work individually. English language and high communication skills are great advantage, but what we consider to be essential is desire to work with young people.
- We will send all information about our project to EURODESK organizations in EU, around 400 hosting and sending organizations around Europe and around 100 partnership organizations,with whom we have already successfully cooperated in the past. We will also inform our local youth and provide all information about EVS position on our official webpage.
- All candidates will be reviewed by commision,which will be consisted of MCDD team and mentors.They will choose suitable candidates according to their CV and motivational letter. Priority will be given to candidates who haven't been involved in YiA activities yet. The selection of candidates will be public nature. Final decision will be explained in english language and forwarded to all candidates.
- We would like that volunteer's profile and his/her interest meet our expectations regarding open personality, selfinitiative and desire to work and inform young people.
- We do not require any special skills, because our project is based on innovative approach of work, so everyone who knows anything can contribute something positive to our youth centre. This is also good way for volunteers to learn from their own experience.
- All essential administrative and technical tasks are carried out by MCDD employees and local volunteers. In case of bigger projects we ask EVS volunteers to help us with what they are willing to/able to do, but we never treat them as workforce.
- We know many organizations with whom we have been sucessfully cooperating in past years, so everyone is taken care of upon arrival to our youth centre and introduced to our work. With organizations that are close to Slovenia, we usually arrange an informal meeting and discuss about details. We are always trying to expand our partnership network and introduce our activities to new organizations, who are willing to participate in YiA programme.

Tarefas: Voluntary activities: Working with youngsters, learning slovenian language and practicing computer skills, working with foreign language, active courses (aerobics, fitness, voleyball, football, climbing,…). We can't offer them informal education. We try to encourage development of their own ideas and iniciatives. If volunteers need material to realize their projects we also provide that.
In general their work covers different fields of activities:
-their own project (newspaper, video, computer design, sports, creative workshops,…) -50%
-work in youth centre (flyering, copying, photography, video-documentary, cleaning) - 20%
-informing young people -20%
-learning about slovenian language and culture-10%
As it's already mentioned above 50% of EVS work is working on their own project. Because we encourage inovative approach of every individual it is difficult to predict what that project will be.
