Resumo: We have several working aims. The main ones are:
-Gather all Roma organisations of Catalonia to have more strength and become more respresentative.
-Become speakers before the local, regional and national governments regarding intervention plans with the Roma community.
-Ensure that the administrative actions respect the interests of the Roma people.
-Promote activities and initiatives with the aim of promoting the co-existence of Roma and non-Roma people in the society of Catalonia.
-Act in any xenophobic or discrimination action towards the Roma community.
-Defend, promote and study the rights, language, history and culture of the Roma folk.
-Promote Roma organisations in the different city areas providing support to the different Roma organisations and entities and so promoting them.
With these objectives we aim to favour social inclusion of Roma people and other groups in risk of exclusion in Catalonia. Another aim is to improve their skills through guidance, individual and professional training and technical assistance.
Two government bodies are in charge of the organisation and coordination of all our activities: the General Assembly and the Board of Directors. General Assembly: formed by the representatives from the member organisations. Its aims are to decide the action lines, establish priorities and main aims, approve budget and member organisations and choose, every 2 years, the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors assumes responsibilities for 2 years. It represents before other organisations and institutions. It counts with 5 deputy-directors who coordinate and promote different activities. We count with 7 technicians who carry out all practical work (Roma, non-Roma and from different countries). The technical team is formed by qualified people who provide scientific, professional quality to all our theoretic and research activities, transparency in management and an optimal development and coordination of the activities in each programme and project.
