Resumo:
There are three fields of activities:
1. Organisation of adventure-based learning camps for children and youth during holidays and on weekends
2. Scout activities
3. International exchanges
Our camps are available to young people nationwide. Several scout groups are domiciled on our area to hold meetings and practise scout activities - like reading maps, use compasses and ropes and pitching tents. In large part, scouts are involved in the work to be undertaken. We attach importance to international work in terms of youth exchanges that we arrange in association with our international partner organisations. Furthermore, we offer courses of instruction to the camp leaders (for example training workshops for youth-team-leaders, therapeutic adventure, ADHS-tutorials and special cookery courses for canteen kitchens).
Perfil:
We are open to host volunteers with fewer opportunities and plan to enlarge our engagement with volunteers with fewer opportunities in the furture. In case of physical disabilities we have to decide in every single case if it is possible. The Adventure Centre is disability and wheelchair accessible.
Young people interested in our hosting project mostly contact us personally after they found information about our EVS-project in the database of the Youth in Action Program. In some cases, partner organisation with whom we have already had a cooperation recommend volunteers to us. We are open to host any volunteers from any country. We are especially interested in cooperations with partner organisations, who are also active in the field of youth work. From the volunteers we expect a genuine interest in what we are doing, openess and honesty; additionally they should have basic knowledge of german or english language, they should be interested in Germany and be motivated to work with children and adolescents.
age: 18 until 30 years old
Tarefas: Tasks and activities of the volunteers:
- EVS volunteers help us to prepare, carry out and follow up holiday camps, international exchanges and school trips for career planing,
- EVS volunteers assist us to plan and carry out seminars for leaders of youth groups and join these seminars themselves,
- EVS-volunteers can assist us in our work in the high ropes course,
- EVS volunteers can assist our work in the nature-education based kindergarden located on the area of the Adventure Centre.
According to personal skills and interests, the volunteers may realise their own projects with the assistance of our team (e. g. preparing a youth exchange with a partner group of their home country, offers for children from the local community, like cooking, music…).
