Resumo: With a population of over 350 000 inhabitants, is one of the biggest cities at the Bulgarian Black Sea. The city was always a popular destination for German, Russian, French, Belgian and other tourists. Here are located four big Universities which host students from hole Bulgaria, but also from the hole world. The history of city starts 1200 years B.C. and knows many different civilizations.

All this makes the city a vivid place to live: a lot of indoor
and in the summer outdoor events are hold here - international music, theater, cinema and cultural festivals, sport competitions and sails, photography, painting and applied art expositions; many youth activities are organized - trips, trainings, workshops and parties; for those who are interested in History the city offers couple of museums, old Greek quarter 3-4th century AD, necropolis etc. As all big cities is not the safest place to live, but it is the city with the lowest rate of unemployment (only 5% annual rate) which makes the rate of criminality lower than in other places in Bulgaria. The city is known with the most active social policy and best architectural accessibility for people with disabilities in Bulgaria, but still social consciousness on this field compared to other countries in the European Union is at a basic level. Most of our activities are organized in the office of the organization which is centrally located, or in different places in the city. Still, depending on our agreement with the volunteer and our ongoing projects, he/she may spend some time in rural areas close to the city, where lack of education and cultural activities, poverty and unemployment are wide spread. This will happen only accidentally, with the agreement of the volunteer and he/she will stay there only during his working time, always accompanied by a member of the organization.

Perfil: - motivated and openminded person,
- age: 18 until 30 years old
- tolerance towards people in disadvantage situation
- interested in work with children and/or young people
- motvated to learn Bulgarian

Tarefas: As the organization has very diverse activities the volunteer can choose where to participate according to his/her interests - offering leisure activities for children in disatvantage situation; working with youngsters to improve their language or computer skills; helping with migrants and get familiar with international legislation and cooperation; organizing and promoting, together with our partner organizations, art exhibitions, cultural events or workshops and information campaigns in terms to change social attitudes towards vulnerable groups, as well as promoting the other activities of the organization. The volunteers will have the freedom to decide where to participate: in the planning and organization or in the implementation of our projects, or both. This way he/she will have the opportunity to learn all the steps for implementing different activities - from the financial and organizational planning, through application till the implementation and the further maintenance. Furher more he/she will learn about tollerance, environmental protection, art management and advertizment.

In the beginning he/she will be probably helping our staff in terms to get to know better the organization, the projects or the target group. Later on of course he/she will participate actively and we will encourage and support him/her in developing and carrying on his/her own ideas and projects. However, during his EVS the volunteer will be a "trainee" in our organisation and will not take over complex tasks completely independently.
