Perfil: - age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: Volunteers play an essential role with us, as they can accompany our users in normal activities, without the bias of professional staff.

Volunteers will carry out any activity of normal life. We centre on the particular interest of our users. We currently attend 85 people. Examples: shopping, accompany the user at the gym or the movies, take the bus, cultural trips, or doing any other activity that the user or the volunteer suggests. The only limit is the suggestions done, though they always have to fulfil the interest of the user.

Volunteers will also talk in media about their experiences and will give visibility to the YiA Programme.
We believe that participating with us may have a big impact in the academic and personal life of volunteers, experiencing normalisation and guiding actions towards capacities and not to limitations.

We will provide specific training to manage qualification and a positive evolution of the relation with the user and the environment. We will provide training in our methodology and they may apply what they learn with the support of a professional.

The activities in a normalised environment (gym, trips,...) will enable their integration in the community and will provide personal learning experiences.

Specific tasks:
" To support users achieving their personal goals in a community and/or normalised context, accompany them on the activities of their interest, such as the gym, pool, library or cinema, with no direct intervention, but as a link between the activity and the user. That is, participate in an activity as any other person. Example: if they go to the gym, they would meet and go as friends to the activity, they would share the activity. At the end, they would take a shower and go home. Volunteers will not have to wash the users, they just do the activities together. In punctual cases, they would only support them with some indications.

" To support the professional and/or user in the management and organisation of leisure activities and carrying them out, suggested by the user, the volunteer or the professional; search of resources to carry out an activity (travel, excursions, camps, cultural activities). Example: 4-day-trip to Tenerife, support to organise the activity, getting in touch with the travel agency, airline, hotel, bus,...

" Participate in activities to raise awareness and disseminate the YiA Programme and the project, in trainings and mass media actions. Example: talk in a course for leaders for youth activities for people with disabilities about their experience as volunteers.

Participation time: 1 h/day Spanish language training. Participation from Monday to Friday, mornings and afternoons (with lunch break). If activities take place on weekends, volunteers will be informed with time and they would have two consecutive free days after the activity.
