Resumo: The territory of intervention of the hosting organization includes all the city, since in our activities children (3 to 12 years old) and teenagers (more than 12) from the town and the periphery take part. The city is one of the 4 regions of Galicia, it is located within the same, and almost 110.000 inhabitants live here. Talking about the economic activity, most of the citizens work for the tertiary sector, although the secondary sector is important too.

So, our socioeconomic contictions are very various, which we believe it is a very important wealth. In our activities a lot of children take part; they are children with good economic conditions, but with other important social deprivations, as well as children and young people from Minor Centres, Taking in Houses, Integration projects Drugs programs, etc.. One of the problems which we face is that boys and girls with economic difficulties of their families (unemployment, etc.) who can not enjoy leisure activities for lack of money. Actually the economic crisis is affecting all of Spanish society, and in particular to the city. Hence many of our offers are free and have a scholarship service to cater to this reality.

If one or two volunteers came, the option to live would be a youth hostel where they could cook and that would be paid by our association. For the meals, we would give them a monthly allowance, advancing the first month for having enough money when arriving. We would stay with them the first weeks to show them the nearer supermarket, pharmacy, bakery,…If there wasn’t this possibility or if they were three volunteers, the association would rent a flat and give a monthly allowance to each volunteer for buying the food. In the same way, we would stay with them the first weeks to show them the nearer supermarket, pharmacy, bakery.

Perfil: The association has a variety of volunteers formed in the field of education (graduates in Teaching) and social branch (psychologists, social educators, pedagogues, etc.). Moreover, there are a large number of universitarians and others who are conducting studies in their final years of compulsory education.
Finally, we would like to emphazise the direct involvement of some Salesian of Salesian community in animation tasks of our association.

Therefore volunteers’ profile would be quite wide, covering those with interest in animation in free time, all of them over 18 years and under 30. In addition, volunteers should know that in our youth center, apart from working directly with children and young people, they have to do other administrative activities, management, support campaigns, etc.

And finally, we would like to point our Chistian profile, therefore, european volunteers should consider this aspect. But we always keep an open policy towards other faiths, so all volunteers interested in participate will be welcome, respecting their personal convictions.

Tarefas: The volunteer would be in all the activities the leisure educator, animator with a methodology in the sense of involvement with the recipients, to promote good relations and good weather in the activity, watch for recipients with more difficulties, etc.

We must also stress that each educator is included in an animation team where there is a coordinator and a variable number of volunteers who form the whole project team. For usto reach all the people is the key in this role, as well as complement and help in the same animation tasks.

At the beginning, SVE volunteers are informed about all projects and activities of our Association, in coordination with the heads of the association, and considering, when it is possible, the centers interests of each volunteer / a, to choose the fields. They need not be at all, although occasionally they can help in other projects if it is necessary.

Volunteers/as participate in regular rhythm: mornings on administration and management of projects and activities (passing documents to computer, make copies, memories of the press, putting up posters and billboards, buy some material, etc.), "maintenance" (organization of rooms and replacement of materials activities) and support for campaigns and projects. All these tasks are related to projects in which they will participate (opened room, game room, educational support, leisure groups, etc.).

Other kinds of activities that we conduct are also so-called special rate (one or two activities per three-month period): social awareness education campaigns, exhibitions, youth work activities in coordination with other entities and agencies of the city (Megaxove, organization parties, leisure activities during Carnival, Christmas, etc.), and participation in meetings of volunteers.

The strong rate of activity in the association corresponds to the Friday evening and Saturday times when activities with groups of free time take place. SVE Volunteers will be active participants in these groups, and they will be shaded in each group. Some activities take place during some hours of the Friday afternoon, others in hours of Saturday morning. Every quarter there are several joint activities where children of all the groups participate. These activities take place on Saturday, and have full-day schedule (morning and afternoon).

The opening room (Sala Aberta) is a space which combines several things: a small bar to meet guys and families, with soft drinks, water, snacks, jelly, chewing gum, pastries and coffee. In the morning it works like school bar but the volunteers do not participate in the morning. The room has tables and chairs, games, television, a magazine rack wide, exhibit, newspapers, etc, and on the ground floor we have a game room (with two football and tennis), a cyber space (with computers free use) and a playroom with games for children from 3 to 6 years. In the evening Sala Aberta works differently. It is open Monday to Saturday and it is a 100% education and entertainment space. The games room on the ground floor space is also a direct animation children, where we could chat and play with them.

What we call proper management corresponds with administrative tasks and processing of documentation. These tasks are assumed by other persons engaged or having a better understanding of the functioning of the association.

In addition, to the association com a lot of kids and parents to ask for information, to catch information, to make entries for activities, etc, Like any other volunteer, they can care for people, giving them information, collecting entries, etc.
We may conclude by noting that volunteers combine regular management tasks, customer service and support for campaigns and projects with direct work activities with boys and girls.
