Resumo: Youth Association DRONI is looking for the EVS volunteers for the following hosting project starting July/August 2011 for 12 months. The project is situated Zugdidi, one of the biggest citis in Georgia.
Perfil: Volunteer's Requirements: We are looking for volunteers who can work with young people, have good interpersonal skills and have passions, which they will share with others, such as: photography, drama, sport etc. They should be willing to gain new abilities and by being involved themselves encourage others to common work. People with organizational and leader skills are welcomed. We would like to invite persons with strong interest and some knowledge in intercultural dialogue issues, especially the persons who already started or would like to start active work in this field. We would especially welcome persons with some practice in cultural and women rights projects. But this does not mean that we are looking professional artists or ngos’ workers. All persons ready to involve in intercultural projects, to introduce us in the problems of cultural diversity (minorities, IDP’s etc.) in their countries or regions, and to propose some new elements for our projects basing on their culture, would be highly welcomed. During the recruitment process, no limitations will be imposed relating to the volunteers' gender, or nationality. We will send to the prospect volunteers detailed information about the Youth Association DRONI and will ask them to describe their own expectations concerning the work and stay in our organization. The final choice will be made by the authorities of the Association and the proposed mentors mentioned above. We will choose those volunteers whose needs will correspond best with the kind of activities we can offer.
Tarefas: Tasks: Location: Zugdidi Theme of Activity: Youth participation, Active citizenship, European awareness, inclusion of young people with few opportunities Target Groups: Youth and Children, IDPs, Local Community Aims and Objectives of the project: The aim of the project is to assist “Aloha Club” at Association GAENATI to implement high-quality programs on human rights, benefit the children, families and community by keeping families and children in particular actively engaged and increase IDP’s kids social inclusion opportunities as well as assist to the women club and conduct English classes. Aims of the project: • To bridge the gap between IDPs and local communities through organizing local events for above mentioned groups; • To expand and develop hidden talents through engaging kids in creative activities which will broad their horizons; • To keep youth engaged and invest in their successful development through providing them access to non-formal education in various fields; • To remove harmful complexes and raise self-esteem through sharing new ideas, broading horizons and raising intercultural experience and personal and professional competences; Volunteer’s task: • Support youth club and summer camp to implement different educational and inclusive activities to integrated groups of IDP and local children; • Help organization to do office work empowering projects related to various issues (children education, women rights); • Plan and organize creative events- such as, photo, art and craft exhibition, excursions, outdoor activities, assist women club: • Organize special events for integrated groups of IDPs and local children; • Conducting English classes for children and youth; The youth club is run four times a week throughout a year and for two week summer camp in July, women club runs daily from 10.00 to 3 p.m. A volunteer may work on Sundays as Youth club has a general meeting on Sunday at 3 p.m. Volunteers will have own space in the office; will be provided with personal laptop and printer. They may start their working day at 11.00 a.m. with one hour break, working hours we can fix at the spot. The work at GAENATI is very varied and our aim is to find tasks suitable for nature of the volunteer and not to be overwhelming her/him with many tasks.
