Resumo: Vaduz is the capital of Liechtenstein.
Liechtenstein is a small country between Switzerland, Austria and Germany, surrounded by very beautiful mountains.
Size: 160 km2, population: 35000, 11 municipalities
Liechtenstein was a very poor country 50 years ago. After the second World War, Liechtenstein became an industrialised country and therefore a richer country. Now Liechtenstein is more specialised in financial services.
As Liechtenstein is a small country but a very active one, 38,4 % of the workers are border workers from the neighbouring countries.
The volunteer will be based in Vaduz.
The volunteer will be active in all the activities/projects with youngsters (12-18):
- helping in the youth centre, contact with the young people (60%)
- helping in the development of projects with and for the young people like day excursions, camps...(10%)
- helping in the coordination of the youth centres' activities (different workshops, PC activities and the event room)(20%)
- setting up its own project with the support of a colleague(5%)
- participating to interesting trainings for youth workers(5%)
In the case of two volunteers, both will be supposed to organise own projects.
The volunteer will be supported by the whole team to develop her/his own ideas and to use his/her own creativity in starting new activities.
Our team is a multicultural team and aims at improving the life of different communities. Therefore we find that a volunteer coming from a different country could help us to reach our aims even better. Through the organization of projects in an European framework, our centre is involved in the process of improving the European consciousness of the young people. A volunteer would bring an added value to this work.
Perfil: Profilul voluntarului: sa aiba cel putin 20 de ani, sa cunoasca limba germana, sa ii placa sa lucreze cu tinerii si sa organizeze evenimente.
Tarefas: A typical week programme:
(these are just the basic tasks, since it changes very often and depends on the activities, season, weather, etc.)
Wednesday:
13.30 - 21.30: Activities in the youth centre, contact with the young people, games
Thursday:
14-16: Team-meeting
16-18: different meetings, administrative tasks, etc.

Saturday:

Coaching the bar-crew (a group of young people, who deals with the bar business of the youth centre) and/or assisting in the sound and light technics for the event room.
The youth centre doesn't sell any alcoholic drinks, except at special events!!!
In the case of events the working time can last untill midnight or even longer.
Sunday:
14-18: Activities in the youth centre, contact with the young people, coordination of workshops and/or youth work with girls/boys
Regarding the breaks:
One hour break can be taken by the volunteer whenever he/she wants to.
The youth centre has its own kitchen where the volunteer can prepare some small snacks. The volunteer can also go to the university's cafeteria located in the same building.
Mondays and Tuesdays are free to allow the volunteer to attend his/her German lessons and to develop his/her own project ideas. During the normal week the volunteer will work 33,6 hours (including the German lessons) a week. The volunteer will have two days holiday for a working week. Some of these holidays have to be taken during our annual closing.
The volunteer must be first of all creative - in music for example - and willing to work with youngsters. Some technical skills (metalworking or sound/light technics..) could be an advantage for the coordination of the different workshops.
We expect her/him to be able to work in a team but also to be independent. Some basic German knowledge would help the volunteer to communicate. The volunteer should be mature enough to work with older youngsters.
The volunteer should be flexible and ready to have some irregular working times because of the projects. The volunteer must be aware of the fact that working with young people requires ability to take stress and some spontaneity.
If you are curious about new experience, openminded and enthusiastic, you are the volunteer we need.
