The activities to be carried out by the volunteers in this time will have an educational dimension and will entail an added value for the beneficiaries, due to the importance of counting with the collaboration of a volunteer from another European country in the activities of our local community.
Volunteers will be hosted in a flat (3 bedrooms, 2 WCs, living-room and kitchen) in Santa Cristina, 15 minutes away from the centre.

• Making a call from the web page of the coordinating organisation.
• Informing people who ask the coordinating organisation about EVS opportunities.

We have created a Mixed Selection Commission made up of the director /person in charge of the project, a psychologist from the coordinating organisation in charge of the volunteer’s follow up, a mentor from the coordinating organisation in charge of the hosted volunteers and the person in charge of institutional connexions.

We had design a scale of technical scoring with endorsement form the directive of the coordinating organisation. Once this process is finished the Commission will match candidates to vacancies, taking into account interests, motivations, wishes, knowledge of the project and the region where it will take place… Through this process of matching the Mixed Commission will select the most appropriate candidate for the tasks according to their social skills, solidarity values, motivations, interest in the beneficiaries of the project commitment to gender equality.

Youth participating in our project will have the opportunity of learning at different levels: educational, collaborating in an innovating educational project, committed and open to the environment, cultural and linguistic, as they will have the occasion of being in contact and learn, not only Spanish language, but also Galician, and become aware of the existence of different linguistic realities at a European level.

All workshops aim the promotion of personal autonomy through the development of different skills, as well as the social integration of the participants. These are some of the activities and workshops carried out:

-Cooking Workshop: its aim is the promotion of personal autonomy. One of the aims is that the participants manage autonomy for their daily life (house duties, cooking,...). They cook, following recipes step by step, with the support of volunteers. This may be very enriching for all parts, as they learn about the gastronomy in Spain and in the country of origin of the volunteers.

Theatre and dance workshops: art is a tool to manage social integration and normalisation of people with disabilities, as it favours movement and social skills and creative thinking. People can experiment with theatre and dance. They enable communication and expression and activate understanding, corporal and emotional aspects. Volunteers will support staff and contribute with the culture of their country.

-Sewing workshop: this workshop enables users to carry out activities with the hands; it works on fine movements, hand abilities, concentration skills,... Each participant has his/her own work. Volunteers support leaders. There may also be a cultural exchange with volunteers, with talks and debates about different typical dresses and their uses throughout history,...
