Resumo: Outline the project environment for the suggested voluntary activities, including the local community where the project will take place (e.g. geographical, social and economical environment). If the host placement is located in a live-in community, please include the rules and conditions that apply also for the volunteer.

Since the main voluntary activity is related to the collection and transportation of paper for recycling, the volunteer will spend two full days in circulation in the city. The work will be based on preliminary planned route that includes the collection of paper from participants in Leaf by Leaf campaign and its transportation to the recycling points in the Western Industrial Area. The direct participation in such activity will give practical experience and ideas to the volunteer for the whole cycle of separate collection and recycling of waste and its importance as part of the idea of sustainable development.

The preparation of specific actions and campaigns, and developing the eco-center project in the village of Ezerets, Shabla municipality will take place in the office of the organization where the volunteer will have its own computer workstation. Volunteer's participation in the process of planning, preparation and development of specific actions on administrative level will contribute to the improvement of his/her administrative skills, as well as the development of team work skills and his/her knowledge on different stages of the project development cycle. It will enables him/her to include personal or indirect experience of his/her country and to develop personal project.

In the process of development of the organization project for eco-center, at stage in which is running the actual construction of the center, the organization will be able to include volunteers in eco-camps organized to test various eco-building techniques, organic farming activities and construction of renewable energy sources. The implementation of the activities will be in the village of Ezerets, Municipality of Shabla, which will enable the volunteers to become familiar with various forms of environmentally sustainable lifestyle, to include them in the preparation and organization of youth camps, to work with groups and go deeper into the typical Bulgarian lifestyle in a small village.

The regular campaigns to clean contaminated areas and the tree-planting actions will be carried out in certain urban areas in the municipality, such as polluted beaches for cleaning, or wild and free areas around the city for tree planting, previously indicated by the Main Forestry. The volunteer will be able to get to know different landscapes in the teritory, to be a direct participant in the action, which aims to build a responsible and active citizen participation in the conservation of green areas and to establish contact with Bulgarian active young people - participants in cleaning and tree-planting actions.

A certain volunteer time of the project will be spent in participation in various presentations and discussions on environmental and civic issues in front of children and youngsters. These events will be held in kindergartens, schools, youth centers and other institutions. They will enable the volunteers to share experiences from their country in the field of environmental education activities and environmental protection, to get aware of another educational system and its work mechanisms, and to broaden their contacts in Bulgaria.

Perfil: Please describe the profiles of volunteers you would like to receive in your organisation. Include information on how you ensure an open and transparent recruitment process as well as the overall accessibility of EVS to all young people. Consider further information about the type of Sending Organisation you want to cooperate with. This information can help the match-making between volunteer candidates, Sending Organisations and your organisation.

Basic requirement for any future long-term volunteer is a motivated desire and will to participate in the organization's activities with environmental focus, to make voluntary work and to demonstrate readiness for an environment-friendly lifestyle.

Organization would watch for key qualities such as interest in Bulgarian culture, curiosity and initiative, without being required as mandatory by the applicants.

To ensure equality in the selection process focuses on the motivation of the volunteer to participate in specific project activities without taking into account discriminating factors such as nationality, religion, education, experience, etc. When initiating the original search process a detailed description of the project and the organization is sent to various youth and partner networks to enable interested bidders to formulate their personal motivation to participate in organization's project. A member of the organization gets in contact with each of the applicants to further clarify their interest in the project activities and to bring maximum information on the organization and the community in which the prospective volunteer would live.

All suitable applications are presented before at least two members of the organization to avoid subjectivity in the selection process. The process ends with the final contact with the volunteer and his/her sending organization, and after finally discussing the option for future project and the volunteer's willingness to engage in it.

The association would prefer to work with environmentally-oriented organizations to exchange experience in sending and hosting volunteers and to look for possibility for future partnerships. However, the main point, to which the orfanization would give priority, is deeper contact of the sending organization with the volunteers and their knowledge to ensure appropriate selection of future EVS volunteers.

The role of the volunteer is to assist in the collection of paper, to build sustainable knowledge, ideas and skills for implementing environment-friendly activities and actions in urban environments, and the full rotation cycle of recycling - from waste disposal to the process of recycling itself.

Organization gives a great importance to the role of the volunteers as generators of new ideas in the development of individual project activities and strongly encourages and assists the individual initiative of volunteers. Specific activities in which the organization is expecting more initiative on the part of the volunteers, are for example meetings, presentations and discussions with children and young people in order to promote specific good practices for natural way of life in their own country. Volunteers are expected to share personal or indirect experience of their country and to give practical ideas for different activities in which the organization is developing activities.

The individual initiative for personal project development is highly encouraged by the organization as such a project would enable the volunteer to participate more actively in the life of the organization, he/she could develop an activity which makes him/her feel committed and competent, as well as to directly share practice and experience of their country, which will contribute to the process of intercultural exchange within the EVS programme.
