Resumo: The town is a combination of green and natural surroundings with an entrepreneurial environment and an international university campus, where our house is situated. In the town you can balance an urban life with a nature environment. You can go to the concerts, museums, restaurants and bars, shopping and do sports and also have the opportunity to enjoy the nature and landscape that the region offers, such as forests with long paths, wild animals and flora and to do outdoor activities like horse-riding, canoeing, trekking, etc.

The town is very well situated for those who want to visit other cities and places.

Accommodation
The volunteers live in the residence of the high school, situated about 25 km from the twon, and in a small village with approx. 600 inhabitants, and thus they will literarily live in the countryside with cows as neighbors. In this residence the volunteers have a single room and share a kitchen and a bathroom with other students and other EVS volunteers.

In the school there is a gym, a sports hall, computer rooms, a library and different ateliers/studios where the volunteers can spend their free time if they wish. The school is surrounded by a beautiful nature where the volunteers can go for a walk, canoeing or bird watch for example.

Besides that, the student groups often organize leisure activities in the town such as sightseeing, games, outdoor activities and cultural evenings in which our EVS volunteers can participate if they wish. The volunteers will also have mentors who are also responsible for planning leisure activities with the volunteers.

Food and meals
The volunteers eat breakfast (Monday-Friday) and dinner (Monday-Thursday) in the refectory of th High school. The volunteers prepare the rest of the meals (lunch on weekdays and meals for the weekend) by themselves in the kitchen of the residence if they are not working ? then food is provided by the café, lunch or dinner.

Transport and communication
Connections are made by bus, as well as the connection

All the rooms in the residence have internet connection as well as in the café.

Perfil: We are looking for a volunteer who:
- is motivated and interested in working with people, café activities and cultural/international activities.
- is active, independent and takes initiative.
- is a social and outgoing person who likes to communicate and work with and be around people of different background as well as with people with disabilities.
- wants to know and learn how a Swedish student café works and would like to help evolve it by bringing in their own experience from his/her country
- is willing to work some evenings in the café and on weekends occasionally, IF it is needed for the activities that THEY decide to implement.
- would like to have their own project in cooperation with other student groups.

The recruitment process will be done together with the coordinating organization and will have the following phases:

- the coordinating organization will promote the search for volunteers on the EVS database as well as contacting partner organizations about this project;
- receive applications from the candidates who are interested in participating in the project;
- choose the candidates who match best the volunteer profile. We will have at least three people discussing the profile in the recruitment process;
- contact the candidates and hold a Skype interview;
- choose volunteers and contact their sending organizations. We will also contact the other candidates and their sending organizations, something we always do to explain the reason why we chose a particular volunteer.

The project would consider hosting volunteers with fewer opportunities, in this case those with geographical, educational or geographical obstacles or unemployed. We will provide support for each volunteer's specific needs in cooperation with the coordinating organization where they will stay, and their mentors.
age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The café offers a lot of learning opportunities with many different tasks, supporting the volunteers to take own initiatives and arrange events in the café. The volunteers will be working together with the café staff, students and student organizations with a varied weekly schedule. The main activity will be helping the other volunteers in the café, like preparing for exhibitions, find new young artists to collaborate with etc., but we also encourage the EVS volunteers to take own initiatives and develop new activities as well as help preparing activities initiated by others. This can be concerts, language café, common walks or sports, excursions or game nights for example. It is very important that the volunteer is open to work also with the daytime staff with disabilities and feel comfortable with a workplace that includes people with both physical and mental disabilities. The EVS volunteers will also have as a task to collaborate with the daytime staff during hectic hours during lunch, being a support for them.
By taking initiative and using their creativity to develop their own ideas for a project and other activities, volunteers will be able to gain planning, organizational, management and evaluating skills as well as develop leadership skills, all with the support of the café supervisor, who will also be their supervisor and mentor at work. With weekly meetings the supervisor will ensure that the volunteers have enough tasks and time to fulfill their projects.
They will gain social and civic competences by working with and for people of all ages and different opportunities and from different cultures, and in a workday they will meet many persons with whom they can interact and improve their Swedish as well as their English (with our international students). This will provide them with opportunities to learn about different cultures, the inclusion of people with fewer opportunities and about Swedish society.

The volunteers will have the chance - both at work and in their residence - to practice their Swedish to complement the Swedish lessons the volunteers will receive at the coordinating organization in the town together with other EVS volunteers in the city.

By meeting and working with many different people the volunteers will develop their communication skills as well as learn how to cooperate with other people and to establish a social network.
By writing blog texts and communicating through other social networks about their EVS experience, they will gain digital competence.

We believe that this will give a boost for the volunteer's self-confidence in creating their own project and activities, and our café is a perfect place for that. They will also grow as an individual through the activities and meetings with many people and working together with the target group and the staff and work with exchange students’ activities.
The volunteers will also have a social mentor, a person outside the organization that will be an introduction to the Swedish society and someone just to hang out with for the volunteer, creating a meaningful free time.

The role of the EVS volunteers in the Host Organization:

The volunteers will be a part of the voluntary team, help running the café with all different activities in it, and also have time to develop activities in the house both as their own project and together with other groups of people. The supervisors will make sure that the volunteers receive challenging tasks and variation but also routine in their work schedule, where the routine work is café duty (meaning tend to customers but also prepare for events, arrange events and recruit people to the events).

The volunteers will not replace any staff or have the same responsibility the tutors or supervisor has, but since the café is run mostly by students in the evening, they will be integrated in the team. They will act as an extra resource in supporting the staff with ideas and inspiration as well as supporting the student teams.

Examples of typical activities/tasks for the volunteers:

The café can offer a broad range of different tasks that can be adapted to the volunteers’ skills, interests and competences, and we can provide supervision within many areas within the organization.
The role of the volunteers is to perform concrete tasks and take part in developing new activities in the house. They will work together with a supervisor who will support the volunteers in carrying out their tasks and who will also encourage the development of their own ideas. The café is open to new ideas and new influences and has many different activities booked such as exhibitions, cultural events, poetry slams, concerts, writing circles, participate in student radio etc. This is a big reason why we are interested to work with EVS volunteers we think that they can contribute to this creative atmosphere.

Activities and café tasks for the volunteers include:
- Be an extra support the café voluntary team of students.
- Develop new activities together with the supervisor and/or student groups.
- Help finding international contacts within the field of art and culture.
- Help finding new visitors in all categories of people with fewer opportunities.
- Bake cookies and cakes for the café.
- Prepare for activities in the house, like concerts or cultural events.
- The volunteers will be able to create and develop their own project, for example new activities, create activities for non-Swedish speaking students and make radio programs for the student radio if interested.
- Support the coordinating organization in spreading information about their EVS project and their volunteer experience.
- Blog and be active on other social media about EVS, their volunteering experience and their projects at the café.
- Organize, marketing and evaluate various events - such as international evenings - to promote cultural awareness and European citizenship together with other EVS volunteers in the town
