Resumo: The social centre is located in a gorgeous town. In the town live about 6.000 people. There is direct bus line to the capital and the mini buses go every 10-15 minutes. To mini bus ride for 15 minutes. In town are food shops, market, 2 gymnasiums, kindergarten, church, post and all minimal services wich can needed people. This town is very natural, there is alive community and there is the best place for quiet leisure.

Active leisure and cultural life – capital of Lithuania and its largest city, with a population of 554,060. The city has been rapidly transformed, and the town has emerged as a modern European city. Many of its older buildings have been renovated, and a business and commercial area is being developed into the New City Centre, expected to become the city's main administrative and business district on the north side of the Neris river.

The capital was selected as a 2009 European Capital of Culture. The capital is a cosmopolitan city with diverse architecture. the Old Town was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994.

The capital is the major economic centre of Lithuania and one of the largest financial centres of the Baltic states. Even though it is home to only 15% of Lithuania's population, it generates approximately 25% of Lithuania's GDP.

Perfil: - Ability to communicate with children from social risk families;
- age: 18 until 30 years old;
- Active, organized, capable to organize children for activities;
- It would be pleasure, if the volunteer could train children new activity, for example, drawing techniques, dancing, singing or playing with instrument and etc.
- We are open to all sending organisations;
- It would be a pleasure, if the volunteer would interested in social work; new ideas to this kind of work are very welcome.

Tarefas: Proposed activities for EVS volunteers: Center (children foster home) undertakes the activities for children and teenagers also their family members in the domain of social care. European Volunteers will play an important role in our community. We do hope that young volunteers will bring a lot of new ideas, new visions and great motivation to work. It will influent work of all the employees and shows to the children, that their life can be also without such a big social and psychological problems, if they will have enough courage and good intensions to change it by themselves.

We hope from this cooperation with EVS Program to bring to our place (organization and all community) new European dimension. Young volunteers who will come to work with us and to work with our children can give special care, attention and energy. Our target group members would be happy to spend time with volunteers, play with them, to be faced to something new or doing daily things but with another person from abroad, to learn more about other cultures, recognize new peoples, to strike up a friendship and to give individual attention. Also it will have good influence for their English skills.

The main activities of the volunteer: to help to organize daily free time occupation (different games, workshops, events, birthdays and etc. organized together with the stuff members); to participate in the educational process (doing social workers duties, participation in the learning seminars – organized by the hosting organization and National Agency, presentation about the country of the volunteer, work in an international team); to take part in development and realization of the Centre projects and own initiative projects: volunteer will have a possibility to teach children in interactive and non formal way, if he/ she has specific knowledge in some kind of sphere (music, art, sport, language skills, etc.).
The main activities in the Centre for EVS volunteer are forseen as follow:
- To help for social worker to do everyday activities: children bath, preparing food and eating, to help to do homeworks etc;
- To help to organize free time activities: educational games, little children care and play with them; going with children outside; additional language lessons, art workshops: painting, ceramic, other; sport activities etc.;
- Accompanning and assisting children in their outdoor activities;
- Organizing social and cultural events together with the target group;
- Organizing social skills training: rewiev of films and diskussion, discussions by proposed themes, art and work therapy etc;

Volunteers are expected to learn and improve lots of social and personal skills: to learn planning and realization abilities, public performance and presentation abilities, group leading skills, communicational skills, will learn to be open to the new possibilities and challenges; to learn social works elements and work with children without parents specification; to learn to be self-dependent and responsible, to learn to evaluate his/her experience.
