Resumo: The hosting organization is located in one of the largest cities in Latvia and almost half of the country's population resides here. Because of its location in the centre of the Baltics, it is fast developing and quite International. Most of the public and cultural activities are therefore concentrated in the city. The municipality is one of the richest both socially and economically.

Perfil: - age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: We offer volunteers to spend a period of 6 to 9 months working in an organization where people with and without disabilities work with and for people with and without disabilities. This experience offers any volunteer a very rich learning opportunity both in terms of daily interaction with various types of people and knowledge about legal, social and cultural aspects of disabilities both in general and in Latvia particularly. EVS projects in the organization mean a great deal of self-initiative, willingness to do smaller and bigger chores in the organization together with the rest of the office staff and possibility to have flexible working hours.

EVS volunteers will become part of the daily life at the office - they will work side by side with employees of the organization and carry out activities with and for local volunteers.
The scope of the activities in which the volunteer could get involved is quite large and depends on the interests of the volunteer him/her self:
1. Activities for and with the local young volunteers. Here the EVS volunteer should work closely with the local youngsters to promote initiative among them and to create interesting leisure time activities for and with them. This could include organizing regular meetings, quiz nights, pizza or film evenings, various workshops, street actions, outdoor activities, etc., as well as helping with the organization of larger projects.

2. Volunteers will have an opportunity to work in one of the structural units of the organization - film studio. Here the work tasks are very varied - from writing the script to filming, directing and editing the video material.

3. Another daily task of volunteers will be taking part in the preparation process for various presentational events, forums, training courses and seminars by helping the other staff members to, for example, plan the event, think of new ideas for events, prepare the needed information, prepare the facilities, etc.

4. Finally, volunteers will have a possibility to develop their own projects in connection to the main targets and philosophy of the hosting organization. The volunteers will receive full support (information supply, expertise, practical issues) from the staff members and other volunteers of the organization in their activities.
