Resumo: Volunteers will live in the town. If there are other EVS volunteers in the town, we will see if they can all share a flat. This will make their stay nicer and they may share their experiences.

Volunteers will have a single room, kitchen, bathroom, etc.
The town is a mountain town of mild climate. It has 7,000 inhabitants. Most of them are dedicated to services (tourism) or work for the administration. Many of them have plots with olive trees, cherry trees, fig trees, chestnut trees and other fruits. In Autumn and Spring part of the population dedicates itself to gathering mushrooms. Mean income: 1000€ per family. Half of the inhabitants are from the town and the other half from outside, mainly from Madrid. There are about 400 foreigners registered.

The town is a dynamic town with an excellent cultural programme (considering its size), promoted both by the City Council and private initiatives. There are 20 active organisations.

Perfil: Profile: Preferably, with English language skills. Basic Spanish language skills or willing to learn it. Among the members, we speak the following languages: Spanish, English, German, Polish, Dutch and French.

age: 18 until 30 years old

Open, enthusiastic people, with initiatives, who likes to work with young people. The following characteristics are an asset: creativity, experience working in theatre and role games, computer skills.

Sending organisations: we will give preference to those whose aim is education in values (Peace culture, immigration, poverty, environment, discrimination, solidarity, etc.) and promote an active citizenship among young people.

Selection: during a meeting of the Board and the volunteers. We guarantee equal opportunities for everybody.

Tarefas: 1. We offer volunteers a life experience in a Spanish town, in contact with young people, experience working with young people value education, youth participation and citizenship. We will also provide Spanish language classes.

2. Volunteers will have an active role in our organisation. They will mainly participate planning and carrying out the youth meetings, support organising and preparing the V Festival of Supportive Youth and will be responsible for communication in the organisation.

3. Weekly meetings with youth
-Participation in the web project "Connecting Worlds " organised by Intermon Oxfam
- Participation in 5 video conferences with young people from Turkey, Ecuador, Ukraine and Morocco
- Development and preparation of the V Supportive Youth Festival
- Participation at the 3rd Youth Solidarity Congress 2012
- Participation in meetings with the rest of the volunteers
- Participation in meetings on citizen participation for young people, social workers, citizens and the City Council
- Communication tasks (website / news) with our help, of course.
- Preparation of the international exchange in Morocco (Summer 2012)
