Resumo: The hosing organization limited by guarantee. The organization is the umbrella name for a non-profit making voluntary organisation which enables people with learning disabilities to advance their personal development and lead a full life within the community, using the support and friendship of volunteers. The organisation compliments and operates in partnership with other statutory and voluntary agencies.
The organisation provides a wide range of small, quality, innovative services for people with learning disabilities, and services are broadly split between day services for people with severe and profound learning disabilities, and support services for people with mild and moderate learning disabilities. We currently employ approximately 60-70 staff and benefit from the support of approximately 20 volunteers. The organisation has a budget of £1.5million per year, with the bulk of our funding coming from a range of contracts with the local authority. The rest of our funding comes by way of donations and grants from charitable trusts. In March 1999, the organization received the Investors in People award, having met national standards regarding the training and development of staff, and re-achieved this award in September 2003, November 2006 and March 2010. In April 2008, we were awarded the Investing in Volunteers award.
