Resumo: Objectives:
The Elderly people is losing his autonomy in performing activities of daily life, that is to say, to wash, dress, move, eat ... These losses of autonomy are compensated by a multidisciplinary team comprising nurses, aid caregiver, physiotherapists, speech therapist, animators,
This multidisciplinary team supports the Elderly. Thus, the volunteer will be included in a professional team and will be especially affected in principle to animation tasks.
However, the orientation of activities will be determined according to his abilities on proposal of the tutor
The integration of European volunteers in this team focuses primarily on:
- To meet the demand of young European volunteers willing to commit to serving others and in particular the elderly,
- To develop an intergenerational project and through animation activities and daily contacts,
- At some times, to accompany residents (elderly) in the performance of activities of daily life.
- To live a human experience through an institution that integrate social, psychological and medical care of seniors
- They can make their own contribution to the project particularly in the field of animation
- To share their experience with staff and local volunteers and thus provide a "more" in the Foyer.
Perfil: - basic knowledge of French
- The interest for a social purpose mission, centered on the elderly
- age: 18 until 30 years old
Tarefas: - Animation activities such as: games, singing, painting on silk,
- Support of the elderly for meals, walks,
- develop initiatives based on their personal experience as long as these initiatives are matching the goals set by the teaching team,
- Volunteers participate in debriefing sessions and in the preparation's programs for animation
Horário: Les tâches des volontaires sont principalement axées sur le " relationnel " au travers :
- des activités d'animation (représentant plus de 70% du temps) telles que : jeux de société, chants, peinture sur soie, …
- du soutien de la personne âgée pour les repas, les promenades,…(environ 20% du temps)
Les volontaires pourront développer des initiatives éventuellement basées sur leur expérience personnelle pour autant que ces initiatives correspondent aux buts définis par l'équipe pédagogique. Leur présence permettra de diversifier et de connaître des approches nouvelles, basées sur une autre culture. Ceci ne peut qu'être bénéfique pour le personnel du Foyer, pour les résidents et pour les volontaires eux-mêmes.
Une journée type se déroule entre 1000 Hr et 1800 Hr avec une prestation de maximum 6 Hr par jour et de 5 jours par semaine.
Deux jours de repos sont prévus par semaine.

Après-midi : atelier tissu/laine ou activités cuisine/jardinage/bricolage
Mercredi matin : bibliothèque
Après-midi : jeux de mémoire/de société
Jeudi matin : LIBRE ou jeux/activités individuelles
Après-midi : jeux de cartes/ de société ou collage/dessins
Vendredi matin : LIBRE ou activités individuelles
Après-midi : activité musicale/jeux de mémoire
Samedi : LIBRE
Dimanche : LIBRE
EXEMPLE DE JOURNEE - TYPE (MAXIMUM 6 HR PAR JOUR)
1000 Hr : Prise de contact avec les résidents lors de la distribution de soupe
1100 Hr à 1200 Hr : Animations diverses
1200 Hr : Accompagnement des résidents pour le dîner
1300 Hr à 1400 Hr : Pause
1400 Hr : Café
1400 Hr à 1700 Hr : Animations diverses
1730 Hr à 1800 Hr : Repas du soir
Condições: Accommodation:
Volunteers are accomodated outside the city, in rooms located in a building housing student nurses. There they will be in regular contact with youth coming from Belgium, France, and from various other countries as well as within the home, they can meet other volunteers from foreign countries.
Formação: A period of intensive learning can be provided depending on the level of knowledge in French and may be followed by regular weekly classes in a school or a local language learning center. The schedule of service will be adjusted accordingly.
