Resumo: Our organization is a cultural nongovernmental and nonconformist youth association in Romania, that develops cultural projects on a regional and European level. The organization uses, as a main resource, the abilities and competencies of its group of young volunteers. As a general aim we try to stimulate cultural initiatives through volunteering and to take part in social transformation by activating young people civically & culturally.

We consider volunteering to be an opportunity for youngsters to learn actively, to develop new skills, to work in international groups, and to make a difference for the society.

The present project has been born out of the need to promote the non-formal education, to stress upon its importance and methods. The youngsters in the local community are rather unfamiliar with such terms; therefore the project comes to help them get a clear idea about what non-formal education is, where and how one can “achieve” it. This will be done by organizing a 7-days carnival, where the volunteers will prepare and implement all kinds of activities meant to give the “non-formal” concept a shape.

The project will host 8 volunteers, for a period of 5 months. The partner countries are – Bulgaria, Portugal, Italy and Poland. Each partner will send 2 volunteers.

Perfil: - age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: Besides organizing and implementing the carnival, the volunteers will take part in other activities, such as:

- Intercultural Evenings at the Museum – the volunteers’ tasks will be to prepare a presentation of an hour and a half of their country: history, art, culture, interesting facts, and whatever information they consider important. The presentations aim at offering the audience a personal view of the respective country, that of the volunteer. This activity is organized in collaboration with the Museum of Art, which offers all the support needed.

- Info-Desk – the volunteers will organize info points in the high schools and universities, where they will promote the voluntary work in general, and the European Voluntary Service especially. For this, they will have to create posters, flyers, or any other forms of presentation; they will talk to the youngsters and also have interactive presentations.

- Express Volunteering – in the last month of their stay, each volunteer will make a short video about their project, the activities, the things they’ve learned, etc. The videos will be used for further promoting the EVS.
