Resumo: The centre of the volunteers professional activities will be the office. Depending on planned activities, work camps and trainings/seminars the volunteer will also have to travel to other parts of Germany.

The project is focused on working with young persons. The volunteer will have the chance to experience the whole work camp season within our organisation and in cooperation with our partners. At the beginning of the EVS the volunteer will get an introduction into our organisation, the staff as well as the working fields. The main area of the volunteer will be the working field work camps/international seminars.

The EVS volunteer will be in touch with the project partners as well as with the volunteers during the preparation, the carrying out and the evaluation of the work camps. The volunteer will have the chance to visit different work camp areas and help with the precise adjustment of the deliverables during the camps as well as help out with collecting information about the work camp area like where to find doctors, shopping centers and possible leisure activities, …

After the meeting with the project partner the EVS volunteer will contact the volunteers of the camp and spread the information which (s)he he has collected already. Of course the EVS volunteer will work on these tasks together with the full-time staff.

Before the start of the camp season we organize a camp leader training where the next work camp leaders get trained on several topics like intercultural learning, motivation, conflict resolution, … Due to the experiences, abilities and skills that the EVS volunteer has, we would like to invite him/her to be part of the preparation team for the leaders training. On this training he/she may do a study session on one of the different topics.

An additional task for the EVS volunteers is the co-coordinating of international workcamps. The EVS volunteers will work in an international group of 10-20 volunteers. Every work camp has a special topic like ecology, renovation, cultural events, … Within the work camps the volunteers will work creatively as well as physically.
Based on the fact that we are running about 40 work camps each year with a lot of different topics the volunteer is free to choose a camp that fits his/her interests and skills. Main target within the work camp is the group building. To reach this the volunteer can use the knowledge and skills he learnt during the camp leader training (e.g. group dynamics and development, motivation, intercultural learning and understanding, leisure activities and games, conflict resolution…).
