Resumo: The Empower your EU citizenship emerged from our organization’s involvement in promoting values such as the human rights, fighting against discrimination and human trafficking, the right for education, civic participation. The 9 volunteers hosted by Pro Prietenia Arad Organization will engage in activities designed around the concepts of active European citizenship, tolerance and intercultural dialogue by raising awareness on the civic and social involvement within local community. The methodology used is specific for non-formal education. The volunteers will be supported in developing social (educational and recreational) activities to benefit children and adults with a vulnerable background. This support is multi-faceted, coming from the entire staff, with special dedication from the project coordinator, activity facilitators, mentors, Romanian language teacher, local volunteers.

We believe in and promote a pleasant working environment. With that in mind we wish to encourage a team spirit among the volunteers and our staff. The main actors are the volunteers whom we will encourage to contribute creatively in giving life to their own project. Besides having the support of a mentor, the volunteers will be involved in team building activities to expand their social network into the local community. Each volunteer will be welcomed to showcase their cultural legacy with input into the intercultural events within the project.

Perfil: - age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: - Office work related to the ongoing project: write certain materials, make photocopies, print, check mails and answer them.

- Organize public awareness and sensitization campaigns: design the posters, the leaflets, the banners and distribute them, establish relevant partnerships, collaborate with the media, organize relevant meetings, go out in the community. For example, they could prepare and implement such campaign for crime victims (about violence against women) or with the occasion of 1st December - the global day for the fight against AIDS.

- Organize social and recreational activities for groups of people facing isolation or rejection in order to facilitate their social integration, for example, children with disabilities, elderly people, young people from minority groups (Roma people), etc.

- Help to distribute material aid to different families in need and offer them assistance. These persons could be the individual cases our organization has or could be oriented toward certain regions facing poverty.

- Realize environmental activities: clean some areas, collect the garbage, plant trees, recycle and/or educational activities - teaching other people about the environment and encourage them to protect it.

- Organize meetings in schools for the purpose of teaching students and develop skills (for example, sex education training, road safety, a cooking class, teach them about drugs, nutrition, safe internet use, playing computer games, etc).

- Sport activities: organize and realize sport activities for children or young people. These activities could have different purposes like promote physical health, fight against teen smoking, facilitate the integration of groups facing social exclusion, develop life skills like teamwork or social skills, etc.
