Resumo: The proposed project has two major themes:
1.Children and Education through sport
2.outdoor activities
Our aim is to encourage active participation of twenty youngsters that have been in child protection institutions to become involved in their community through non-formal education activities and volunteering, thus providing learning opportunities for youngsters with fewer opportunities:
- provide learning opportunities and life experience through activities with children and youth;
- Promoting non-formal education through daily workshops and activities for 1000 children and youth;
- Promoting volunteering within the local community of 140.000 inhabitants through three daily activities with children and youth
- The EVS volunteers will coordinate indoor and outdoor activities and non-formal educational programmes for children and youth, such as Mother’s Day, Earth Day, Easter, Environment Day, Europe’s Day, Kids Day, through games, sports, mountaineering, arts and crafts workshops, music, drama, language clubs, living library, forum, theatre, treasure hunts thus playing an active part in the life of our organisation and of the community as well.
- They will design and implement a community project to actively involve children and youth with fewer opportunities make at least five public events to promote non-formal education and volunteering to the local community as part of their international project: The Day of Volunteering, The Non-formal Education Day, Youth Day, etc.
The EVS volunteers are open to bring their ideas on how to best organise these activities and play an active part in their conception and implementation.
Our city has a population of around 140,000 inhabitants including different ethnic and religious minorities, thus ensuring a multicultural experience per se for the volunteers to live and work in such a diverse community, with Romanians (82,85%), Hungarians (14,79%), Rroma (5,3%), Ukrainians (0,25%), Germans (0,35%), Jewish (0,04%).
Perfil: - passionate about learning and education,
- love working with children,
- show an open minded attitude towards a different culture
- should be flexible with the activities they take part in and willing to integrate and socialize, as they will work in an international environment
- positive,
- energetic,
- outgoing,
- communicative,
- basic level of English
- age: 18 until 30 years old
Tarefas: - assist and coordinate various indoor and outdoor activities and non-formal educational programmes for children and youth, such as: games, sports, mountaineering, arts and crafts workshops, music, drama, language clubs, thus playing an active part in the life of our organisation and of the community as well.
They youngsters will be able to participate in the following projects: Mother’s Day, Earth Day, Easter, Environment Day, Europe’s Day, Kids Day, The European Day of Languages, Halloween, Christmas, etc.

Horário: You will work on average 6H every day and have 2 days off every week end.
Also, you will have a monthly holiday of two days.
Condições: The first two weeks, you will get acquainted with your mentor, coordinator, and language teacher.
All volunteers will be hosted in good condition and safe housing in the city.
We provide all meals or food allowance, and also local transport, either by bus or bikes.
Formação: The Romanian lessons will be taught by a professional teacher and will be organized twice a week for one and a half hours.
Our organisation has loads to offer both in terms of learning opportunities working alongside our staff and volunteers and from the interaction with the children and youth that are benefiting from our programmes. At the end of the service, following discussions on the learning achievements with the mentor, each volunteer shall receive a Youth Pass, AIST staff will take care of this procedure.
