Resumo: Our community is a severely disadvantaged community that has a very high number of families headed by one parent. It is a community that suffers from very high unemployment and has been ravaged by drug abuse. There is a very high population of young people in Ballymun, many of whom are seriously at-risk. Although there are many serious issues, there is also a very strong sense of community with many groups and organisations.

EVS Volunteers have the opportunity to experience the wide range of work that we carrie out based on the volunteer’s interests and skills. As much as possible, the volunteer’s time is spent in contact with young people with the aim of developing positive relationships, learning about one another’s cultures and sharing volunteering experiences.

The majority of the volunteer’s time is spent working with groups and clubs with the support of experienced youth workers and youth work volunteers. Although the volunteer will have time for administrative duties, the bulk of the work will be in groups with young people.

Perfil: - age: 21 until 30 years old
- intermediate level of spoken english
- experience working with young people, particularly in a youth work, youth club or youth group setting.
- interest, arts, music, digital media, theatre

Tarefas: The role of the volunteer is Youth Arts Support.

The volunteer will work within the BRYR arts programme of music, theatre, arts, digital media. The person will also support youth work within the wider organisation.
